I was thinking about this all day now and I want to know other peoples insights on the matter. Cinematic Dreams, or what I like to call them since theres probably already a proper word for them, are those dreams where there's a movie in your mind while your sleeping. Last night I had one such dream. Its probably because of my late night Skyrim date but it was still pretty unexpected anyway.

So I start out in my little town walking out of a Dark Brotherhood like sanctuary. The houses looked like little Indian adobes that where pink. I just kept walking straight until I came to the outskirts of town. Here I found everyone I knew making a barricade on this one really long road that leads to the bigger cities. They where dressed in Fallout combat armor and guns. I learned that one of my friends had turned into a vampire and was walking down the road towards the town. My vision just suddenly zoomed in on him and I saw him walking, just calmly walking, down the road. He didn't even look like a vampire, only dressed in regular jeans and a yellow shirt. Then it kinda fast forwarded to where we were face to face in that DB sanctuary place. Then I woke up.

Its kind of funny because this friend was one of a handful people who where white and blonde in this little mexican village. Anyone else just have one of these long-winded dreams and then wake just completely rested but wondering what's going on in your head?

Ooohh Riight, Sounds like an interesting dream!

I have a really imaginitive mind, and thats probably for my reason of not being to get to sleep for a long time, I cant stop thinking and imagining things.

But when I sleep, about 80% of the time I will have a very vivd dream, and it will feel like a whole day has gone past.

I love it! Thats why I cant wait to sleep alot of the times..

I had one lastnight, Ill cut it short.

I was wondering around outside on open land, sort of what Ireland would look like, and most of the buildings were made of brick and they were submerged underwater. I then walked down a cobblestone sort of road and found my own school, where I then went inside and met up with some of my mates, but not my good-mates. We then sat down as if we were in primary school with our legs crossed and we had our same teacher I had when I was that young, and we started learning maths or some bullsh*t.. Then we appeared on that maths add about kids being genius and sh*t, and then we all turned to our young kid form again.. And it just went crazy from there..

Yeah little sample, haha.

I have really vivid dreams all the time. I remember one where I was an ODST and I was stuck in a closed building like an office or apartment, tall and narrow, I remember brutes and grunts coming up an elevator and I had to take cover buy going on the out side of the building through a giant hole in the wall. It was raining and looked a lot like the ‘Long night of solace’ level from Halo Reach.

I also remember dreaming that same dream in both first and third person. Vivid colours of the night like blues and deep purples. It was raining also… I loved it. I had this dream like 3 months ago and I can still remember it pretty good.

I have quite vivid dreams.

Probably why I've been known to laugh and smile in my sleep. I've woken up crying a couple times too...

I remember once dreaming my sister had upset me, so I ran to the bathroom crying, looked in horror at my reflection in the mirror and saw that I was crying blood. Wiped my face with a towel and left the bathroom.

For years as a child I was sure this was a memory of something that had actually happened. But then realised how unlikely it was and decided it was just a vivid dream.

And yes, I've had a dream within a dream before. Inception hurr.

I still don't really get what you mean by "cinematic dream" as opposed to a regular dream.
I think he means a dream that resembles a movie. Most of the time, dreams are a mishmash of different scenes, but sometimes these scenes follow a pattern, or a plot without breaking the overall flow. At least that's how I got it.

I once had a totally insane, even film like dream once about a fat guy chasing me while I was in Spain. I loved it so much I wrote it all down, if I find it I'll type it out here.

Yea, just like TRA Rotid pointed out. A bunch of scenes together in one dream. The difference I see between a regular dream and a cinematic dream is that regular dreams are usually blurred, short, randomness that you forget when you wake up. What I like to call cinematic dreams are when you have long, clear random happenings that you can remember in the morning.

I moved to a town that looked exactly the same as Rundown on MW2 and it was really quiet.. Few people living there, a mayor and so on. After a while of walking around and adjusting, some crazy old guy pulled me in an alley and warned me about a danger that lurked in the sewers.. Of course I didn't believe him but I walked around the corner to see a clown jumping out from a manhole and pulling someone under. I ran to the mayor and told him about it and he didn't believe me so we walked outside only for the same death happen to him. The town then declared war on the killer clowns and me and a few others went underground to take them out. We found out the only way to kill them was to throw a towel over their head then punch them in the nose.. After killing the final clown we celebrated and I woke up.

Don't know if it was meant to be a nightmare or a regular dream, either way, I woke up p*ssing myself with laughter.
