Coalition launches Libya attacks

I just don't see why governments should be more worried about cutting their spending than they should be about stopping regimes like Gaddafi's.

And to add a cynical thought in there: Rwanda doesn't have as much oil as Libya.

I think the main danger here is the scale of our involvement. We want Gaddafi ousted, and we have to make sure we get it done. Now that we're involved we have to finish the job, otherwise this whole thing was a waste.

PS. I say we, but I don't even know if Australia is involved. We're there in spirit, though.

If the same thing was happening in Holland, you'd be glad other countries are joining in. We're all human, and we all need to help each other out. You can't make exceptions based on some ridiculous, arbitrary distinction like nationality.

Thats true i would be happy but i mean.... if only the USA or UK helps them it would be enough i dont see why every member country of the Nato has to join...

Of course those guys are "helping" the cause, they have their own agendas.

Because NATO is a millitary alliance. If one member nation gets involved in millitary action, the others at least have to show token support.

As a rule, I typically don't like to agree with Arseface since he's all peace love and happiness and crap like that. However...He's right. When you've got countries going around killing their own people, that's a problem and other world leaders need to step up and take care of it. I remember way back when in the states, Clinton trying to stay uninvolved with the Rwanda situation, that's something I'm sure he regrets now.

Yeah he really effed his reputation but as far as recent presidents go he was great. He balanced the national deficit and under him our economy boomed.

Hotel Rawanda is a good movie. It paints a real picture of how the U.N and empire countries opperate.
