Re: COME ON ENGLANND

Rugby...snore...

Re: COME ON ENGLANND

Well, coming from Australia I live and breathe sport (or at least I'm supposed to). I like all sports, bar Grid Iron (American football).

Also England cheats.

Re: COME ON ENGLANND

Hmmm... rugby? Shockingly, my home county and a couple neighboring ones seem to be spawning teams at the high schools. My brother's girlfriend played it in high school; and the one where I took the SAT had posters up all over the place about a team they were forming.

I don't think the one I go to (in yet another county) has one, though.

But yeah, I'm mostly into baseball and soccer (everybody-else-calls-it-football), even though I haven't played in a long while, but I also kinda like our mutant step-cousin of rugby, American football, though I've never played it outside of extremely painful, slippery, in-the-snow games with my siblings and neighbors. (Go Skins! Please stop losing...)

Re: COME ON ENGLANND

Yeah, I know all about "kill the kid with the ball." When you're younger, that's what a lot of football (American) and, for some reason, basketball, games seem to dissolve into. Now we're much more refined. We just play snow football, which is the same thing only we let slipping and running into trees/thorny bushes/Christmas decorations/passing cars cause the pain, then just pile on top of the fallen.

Hehe. Rugby is like any other sport - the only bits worth watching are the slow-mo replays of people getting hurt.
Amen to that - I only watch a sport if there's a chance of something or someone exploding :D

Unless it's the Winter Olympics - that's just plain awesome no matter what (except curling which just looks like a housewife's sport to me )
