Crucible Troll

I have gotten 7/8 perfect rounds, but im having problems defeating the troll in time. Does anyone have any tips?
And also, do you have to wipe out the Hobbes that spawn around him before those weak spots appear again?

Use a level 2 or 3 raise dead will spell and that will keep the hobbes busy while you kill the troll. When the troll dies the hobbes will too. Good Luck!

Just slow time (the higher the level the better) and run around him. Makes things MUCH easier.

I slow the time, and complete it in less than the perfect time, but at the end it shows 3 minutes +

Although it shows the time limit slowing down, the slow time does not slow down the actual time it takes to complete it. So if it takes you 3 minutes to beat him, that's what you will get, even if the timer doesn't say so.

The best Crucible Troll strategy that I have found is to set your level one spell as Slow Time, and all the rest as Inferno. Preferably up to level 4 Inferno. For a weapon, I recommend the Red Dragon or any damage augmented pistol.

Run up to him, wait a moment for him to take notice, then slow down time. Run around behind him but stay nearby his ankles.

Charge up the Inferno spell to 4 (5 takes too long, you'll get smacked for sure) and let it loose. You should decimate a large number of tendrils all at once and his life bar will drop retarded low.

From there, just dance around him and shoot the remaining tendrils while avoiding/killing hobbes.

The Inferno spell will only work once. I think this is because it can't reach the tendrils that are on the upper parts of the trolls body, such as the ones on his arms.

My best Troll time using this method is 1:10.
