Cutting down on the fans...

I'm going to set up a media server at home, for steaming audio/video over the local network.

Does the server need any fans except CPU and the power supply?
It won't do anything except transcode video, and refresh the library at 12:00 and 00:00. Would be nice if it were silent..

if its a server it shouldnt need anything else other than a network connection or something

Take it apart and build it back together as half fridge half computer so it will stay kewl.

I actually got a PC running inside a minifridge.

(looks kind of like this one, but less fancy.)
The fridge and computer share the same powersupply, and I can fit it all in 'cos it has no fans, naturally. Can't keep it running for more than 3h straight though, otherwise it starts to condensate...
