Just to make sure, Steve. If you do add the dark skin, you are going to just make it a secondary skin, and not a replacement?.. Just so other members on here don't have a panic attack or start going on strike.
Sorry for the late reply! Thread only just got revived so figured better late than never... ^_^

The dark skin would completely replace the light one because the light skin would not support the newer features that came with the vBulletin upgrade.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

Can't you just do a recolor? You wouldn't have to import the entire DMC set up...Just the colors. Unless vBulletin has changed DRASTICALLY in the past 2 years...in which case, I spologize. =p

When is this happening?:) I bet it'll look nice.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

I vote NAY! I love the look of the current skin. The other one is WAY too dark and not fable-y enough.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

i vote for a darker skin. mabey a fable/fable2 theam to it? mabey one side of the screen all happy and goodn (blue and white), and the other darker and evil (red and black)?

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

That's quite an interesting idea, TJ! I'd love to see something like that implemented! I'm not entirely sure how we'd pull it off but you've got me thinking now... :P I'll see if I can throw together some ideas.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

What if you set up good and evil parts of the forum Oakfields and Bloodstone.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

Some interesting ideas. Maybe when the game is released, there will be a perfect picture, for the good and evil sides. Although I love the night pictures. I think we are getting a lot warmer, on how it should look.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

Darker is always better in my books.

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

As to TJ's idea, Look down there at my sig. vvvvvvvvv

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

I say YAY!!! That would be cool, but obviously let us have the choice of choosing dark or the original so we can have either or alternate if we get bored of one :P

Let the choice be there and go for it!!

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

Some forums have a drop-down bar with a list of skins. Maybe try that?

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

^ that may overly over tax the server as i hear it is over taxed already

Re: Dark Forum Skin?

'Fraid it can only be one or the other. Either light or dark. :(

Some do, yes. We used to. But a lot of webmasters (me included) prefer to only need to work with a single universal template rather than several. The reason for this is because updating one theme is much easier and quicker than updating several. Plus I like to modify the themes to make 'em more unique and inevitably there are bugs left behind. It's an absolute nightmare chasing bugs on a single theme let alone two or three themes! :P

Nah, not really. It wouldn't really make any difference to the server. We've got a really sexy, beefy server powering this place. I know I've mentioend a few times that I don't like installing forum modifications and stuff because they tax the server but that's only because I'm a sucker for optimization. I love seeing a forum page load in, like, 0.00000001 seconds. Each modifcation we install only adds to the page load time, even if it's only 0.00000000000000001 second per installed mod. ^_^

Short version: We have the Chuck Norris of all web servers.

Sorry if Im bumping an ol' topic but has there been any kind of conclusion for this cause I would love to use some new features! Honestly I think that the website loads ridulessly fast (for my very poor internet speed) but one or two more plugins for the furoms would add quite a bit more extra to the forums (did that sentance even make sence?).
