Dead space movie

i heard that they might make a Dead space movie, any truth behind this? and think it'll be any good? Not the comic movies or something like but the original game movie. I think it'll be good if they get it to look reliestic "Not another doom movie though"

I was goin to put this in the game section but i wasn't sure it fit the description.

A Dead Space movie would be pretty sexy. I never got round to watching Downfall (I think that's what the animated flick was called...) but hopefully Dead Space will be the next license for Hollywood to snap up. It'd be cool to watch a "re-imagining" of the first game in movie form.

Im actually watching the movie now ill tell you how it goes, but ya a well thought out dead space movie would definitely be sexy and im sure it'd make dead space 2 even sexier

I've really meant to play this game. My younger brother has it and he certainly had a good opinion of it. I don't know how the story pans out but I would certainly hope the movie sticks to the same general plot. NOTHING like Doom . . . that's a good hour and a half of my life wasted :P

haha its a really great game if you like survivals one of my favorite. Couple of times in a single chapter i have to get off for a hour to calm my nerves from being spooked. Ya the doom movie was terrible =/ Game was fun though

ALso if they make the movie i hope they keep isaac as the "Never in charge guy" As that was one of the parts of the game that i thought really made it great. You were just a engineer with a mining gun :D

All I can say about the animated Downfall movie; don't watch it. The lore conflicts between the movie and the game made me cry.

And what really has me furious is that we have to watch a fat guy running from the Necromorphs - naked. Yes, you get to see his penis swing wildly as he tries to make his escape. And to add insult to injury you then have a woman fleeing. However, she has a towel wrapped around her. And what's worse - when we see the towel fly up, she is wearing panties! She came out of the shower, wearing panties! I sat through 3-4 seconds of fat guy dong, at the very least I want a cleavage, be it butt or breast!

I can only actually think of two bad films that are based on games.

Final Fantasy VII and Max Payne.

Dead Space would make a great psychological horror movie, but chances of Hollywood doing it the right way are low so I bet a Dead Space movie is going to suck just like all other game movies (I don`t want to be all-out general here, but I really can`t remember any good game-based movies.

I liked Advent Children actually, granted I haven´t played FFVII so I don`t know the plot.
Another disappointment were the Tomb Raider movies - I can never imagine Lara the way Jolie portrayed her.
Silent Hill was decent actually.

Tomb Raider was kind of... Meh. I enjoyed Silent Hill and Resident Evil for that matter.

haha sounds pretty bad, espcially the fat guy (i got bored about half way through) eh atleast dead space is something to look forward too :D

and ya most game-movies are pretty bad but thats because there plots are way to open. Dead space your path is always set forward for you, you never have a real moment where you can say "Uhh i want to go this way to finish this mission"

I`ve only seen my friend play Dead Space a little, but to me Dead Space was more about creating a scary atmosphere overall, rather than the "shock tactics".
I don`t know for sure, though.

Dead Space is definitely more than cheap shock moments. I mean, sure it have a few of them, but it really succeeds in creeping you out with atmosphere. In that sense, Dead Space is what RE5 should've been.
