Deadliest Warrior
As many of you may know the new season of Deadliest Warrior begins on 4/20. The match-ups for this season are being released on the Spike Blog. I want to see some opinions on these match-ups. Let the debate begin!
SWAT vs. GSG-9 - I'll go with the Grenzschutzgruppe 9 on this one. Better trained for combat against heavily armed opponents due to their CT training. I just saw the weapons and the GSG-9 is far more advanced in equipment.
Attila the Hun vs. Alexander the Great - If it was a war of tactics I would go for Alexander, but it's not. Attila was an extremely skilled individual warrior.
Aztec Jaguar vs. Zande Warrior - If it got to be a CQB I'd root for the Jaguar, but if it relies heavily on spear combat the Zande has the advantage.
Jesse James Gang vs. Al Capone Gang - Automatic weapons? Yeah, Al Capone.
Persian Immortal vs. Celt - The Immortals will have the advantage in long distance, but at close-range the Celt's heavy weapons will rip through the Persian's primitive chainmail.
Roman Centurion vs. Rajput Warrior - Centurion all the way. The Rajput are what I call "political warriors".
Somali Pirate vs. Medellin Cartel - It all comes down to the weaponry in Deadliest Warrior and both of these groups are fairly equally armed, except for one major factor. The RPG used by Somali Pirates.
Nazi SS vs. Viet Cong - Two of my least favorite people duking it out. The Viet Cong have the advantage of 20 years of technological upgrades, but they had no formal training where as the SS were the elite Nazis. Going for the SS on this one.
KGB vs. CIA - In a situation where neither side knew the other was in near proximity, the CIA tactics would pull through. If both sides were able to plan a preemptive strike, the KGB would formulate a better plan. It can really go either way.
Vlad the Impaler vs. Sun Tzu - History lesson - Vlad the Impaler was known for impaling his prisoners while he was the prince of Wallachia. He was also the inspiration for the vampire Dracula.Sun Tzu is a fairly mysterious person. He is mentioned in Chinese texts as existing in a 300 year period. He wrote "the Art of War" which has formatted modern military formations. Tactical battle, SunTzu dominates. One on One, probably Vlad III.
Ming Warrior vs. Musketeer - Can go either way. Long range goes to Musketeer (who I believe is French) and close range will go to the vicious Ming warrior.
Comanche vs. Mongol - This depends on which generation of Comanche were talking about. Eventually the Comanche started using rifles from horseback and were some of the best shooters in their prime. Hard decision, but I'll say Comanche just based on the rifles.
Navy Seal vs. Israeli Commando - The Seals are far better marksman and general fighters, but the Commandos are pretty much the best hand-to-hand soldiers in the world today and are also skilled gunners. Sad to say, may go to Commandos.
