I'm aware that this has been around for a while but I've just finished Death Note for a second time and thought that this scene was worth posting. So, Death Note fans, discuss this and Death Note in general!

The best anime ever made, in my opinion.

Lawliet was pretty awesome, but it was inevitable that someone would win, and because without Light there is no story, Lawliet had to be the loser.

But you can be happy with that fact that Mihael and Nate got him in the end?

I really have to ask... What the hell is so special about this "Death Note". It seems to be everyone's latest "BAEST THING EV4R".

EDIT: Oh, hell naw, I can't watch a subbed clip without laughing. I can't watch and read subtitles at the same time very well. The Passion of The Christ almost killed me when I learned in english.

Its only the BAEST THING EV4R to people new to anime, I've seen about 14 different series of anime and whatnot, and I can say that Death Note is the best, closely followed by Gungrave. It's because the story is so well set out, the characters are developed and there aren't any holes where you can say "okay, that is completely stupid, this could've happened.."

Although, when L got the Death Note he could've matched Light's handwriting to the handwriting in the Note.. but that's a story for another time.

And you have me intrigued... Although I dislike anime... It just gets on my nerves. I don't even know why. Kind of like someone you just meet and you hate them for whatever reason.

And is the whole series subbed for english speaking viewers?

Yup, you can watch it either subbed or dubbed here.

I thought Lawliet was L's first name, if it is his surname then what is the fore?

Well if you really wanna know..

Light put Misa in a position where as she was going to be caught by L, so Rem was forced to kill Watari and young Mr. Lawliet in order to prolong Misa's life. Which killed Rem, obviously. All a part of Kira's plan.

His name is L Lawliet. L is his name.


REM killed him.

That is one groovy name.

I started hating light after episode 5 or something like that.

i was always on lights side in the show. as it was put earlier
Light+Death=usual justice prevails and the world goes on
L+Death=Lights journey continues and the world gets more twisted

i wouldn't call Death Note the best anime ever...but it's top 5 for sure. probably the darkest, deepest, and most nerve racking one i've ever seen.

Why his eyes turned red in the anime? Was it just some effect?
I don't know cos I only read the manga. He didn't have any special power in the manga if I remember correctly.
