Did I Just Hear Gunshots?!!?!?!

Well, I was just sittin here, with my friend Rob, playing CoD 4, and we heard what we thought sounded like gunshots. I almost **** a brick. Then, tires squealing. Now if only the gun master was on. But anyways, it sounded kinda like a packa packa, not really a loud bang, and it was a distance off. Right now, I am hoping I don,t shat myself, and anyone with previous gun knowledge would like to help on this.

9mm UZI, I'd reckon. Not that many ppl have access to heavier automatic firearms.

Where I used to live, the Muslim community had quite a lot of fun shooting at each other (or the black people who they hated for some reason) - I suppose it's less messy than using machetes, which they have done before in the past...

I'm not familiar with guns though - I've heard them but couldn't define them...

I hear gunshots here all the time, though they are usually just cheap 9mm pistols.

When I hear a gunshot, it`s usually a deer being killed by hunters (you still use this word for people with guns, messing around in the woods, killing deers and stuff?), sometimes it`s close - my neighbor is one and not long ago, he shot a fox (it had this awful disease) 150m from my house.

Whenever I hear gunshots, I just ignore it. Most of the people around here do anyway. My recommendation is to forget about it, but if it really bothers you that much, call the police.

It was a handgun, small caliber. 9mm or .38 no doubt.

Isn't it against the law to fire weapons that close to residential areas?

I definitely vote ignore it. Whether drug dealers shooting each other or hunters shooting deer, I just hope I don't get shot. Okay, I lie, the couple times we've had dumbasses running around shooting at each other in the vicinity I've been intensely uncomfortable, but still.

I'm not sure, Amanda. Probably, but then I'm not all that current on Estonian gun laws. [grin]

I don't know where you live, but if I heard gunshots, that were't coming from my battlefront, I'd call 911, and ask questions later.;)

I think it is, but the fox had rabies and it was running around and probably killing people so, it was best to kill it. And, it`s not very crowded where I live anyway.

Just how strict? I mean, how was it that your neighbor had a gun to kill the aforementioned fox if you have ultra-strict gun laws?

He is a hunter, he has a hunting license and killing diseased animals is his duty.

I see. I was just curious about how strict, as in how hard it is to get a hunting license, and all. And I'm too lazy to go hit Google or Wikipedia.
