Difficulty.

I think they should of made a Difficulty bar, Like on Oblivion. I found it too Easy on Fable II, I didn't die once. I want to die, I want to live with the scars, I want to have that Consequence!

i agree with u i beat the game and i felt it was too easy

Re: Difficulty.

I died only twice in the spire, coz of no potions xD

Re: Difficulty.

I feel bad now, first playthrough I died like, 40 times....had no idea what I was doing lol.

Re: Difficulty.

Why don't you try playing with no or minimal potions? That makes the game a bit more challengeing for me.

Re: Difficulty.

I played the game without using any potion or food... lol...

I think I finished the game with a mere 15 Deaths or so? but once I finished it I went on some huge sprees and now ive got like 50 or more deaths I believe =)

and by sprees I mean just go around killing everything you see =)
gets kinda harder when you start facing balverines, trolls, crucible, quests, mages etc...

Re: Difficulty.

It is easy... Pretty damn easy.

Re: Difficulty.

Why not try playing without leveling up? That certainly spiced up the original Fable.

Re: Difficulty.

^ Ooo Egglor, Good Call!

I mgiht just get my Dexsterious and Flourishing Skill part up, I wont use magic unless i HAVE TO.

Re: Difficulty.

Iteresting because I too got knocked out about 65 times on my first playtrough, 7 times on my second, and not at all on my third. Fable 2 seems to be one of those games that takes a bit of getting used to and then gets far too easy. A difficulty slider would be welcome because I find that combat just doesn't last long enough for you to really get into it and use all of your tactics effectively decreasing the fun you get. Of course, the worst was the fomrer fable. There were far too many potions and ressurection phials and it was simply far too easy to complete it without dying at al. No fun.

Re: Difficulty.

Fable 2 isn't hard but it isn't supposed to be either.

Re: Difficulty.

I think Fable 2 isn't mostly about the game. It's trying to get you in the game. Hence the emotional storyline and the whole "Ooh. Look at the surroundings. 9000 Leaves on a tree. You wrecked Oakfield. That was your choice." That's why it isn't difficult. For you to get the game over with and still play it and admire it. Or some sh*t.

Re: Difficulty.

^ I didnt get as attached to the game as i would of, They need to have bigger consequences for the game

Re: Difficulty.

play through with only rusted weapons

Though I do agree with this, fable 2 was much easier because of not being able to die. Many times I wish there were greater consequences, as there should be. However I have to say that I actually enjoyed not being able to die, but got a scar or scars instead. It was interesting and different from many other games, making it unique (amongst other qualities). So if there were to be an increase in the consequences of future fable games then that's great, but the consequence shouldn't be like death and restart at last save necessarily. I don't know what kind of consequence system could be in place, I'm just saying.
Love how I can get scars.
So Mr.Scare please give some ideas as to how you would have the consequence system set up for future fable games.

Re: Difficulty.

^ Right on it!

Well i was thinking.. How about..
- I think If you kill a Civilian you should have a much GREATER consequences, People Hating you and Money wise. It should cost ALOT of money, Like 5,000 per person you kill.
- I think the Scars were a great Idea aswell, I dont really have any problems with that..
- There needs to be Greater Decisions in the Storyline, More then just the last ones, I found the last 3 Decisions at the end were quite good, But needs more throughtout the Story.
And i think there Should be quests that are like "Destroy Bowerstone with The Bandits" or "Create a new Civilisation" So you have the choice of Destruction or a Newborn life to a different Area.
- More then 1 Kid!
- I think the Simpliest things need to have a long duration of changing a certain area, I think if you spend alot of money in one area, the houses get "bigger" "better", or If you cheap them out the houses get "Duller" and "crappier". Get what I mean?

Well thats jsut some of my thoughts I just thoguht of then..

True. But static leveling is better, IMO.
Like, theres a mod in Oblivion which makes leveling un-scaled, so if you go to the main quest, then the like daedra and stuff would be level 20 while your level 3. Makes a game seem a lot more realistic.
Wait... when did these wolves become trolls?!
^_^

Re: Difficulty.

Difficult slider = awesome concept... not so practical for the game designers though.

Game with no slider = test a few run throughs to make sure it works fine.

Game with slider = coding for those different levels (slider doesnt just make enemies swing faster or have more hp most of the time) Test a few run throughs... test again on next difficulty level etc...

Basically as far as game developers are concerned diffuclty sliders are just not worth the time and effort put into it.
