Dragon Age: Origins 'Leliana's Song' DLC Detailed
Sounds like a pretty decent DLC to me. But how would I know? I don't even have the gameBioWare's senior writer, Lukas Kristjanson has been talking up Dragon Age: Origins' forthcoming Leliana's Song DLC in an interview with IGN, revealing a few salient details to expect when the new content releases in July.
Leliana's Song will be a prequel for the character, that has you experiencing the "chaos of Leliana's life as a bard and assassin". It's a standalone tale as told by Leliana herself, so naturally there will be a few exaggerations and embellishments to her story.
As a standalone chunk of narrative, Leliana's Song won't change the main Dragon Age story, although the bonus reward item that you earn will carry over into the core game. Leliana's Song will also be fully-voiced, which is a first for Dragon Age.
That reward item will be "a powerful new item for rogue characters" according to Kristjanson, and will appear in your Grey Warden's inventory. Kristjanson wouldn't reveal exactly what the item was though: "You'll have to wait and see. Sorry, that's a jerk move, I know", he said.
The DLC adventure will be tightly focused and fast-paced, starting Leliana and her party at level 10, enabling players to be flexible with abilities and equipment.
What's more, there'll also be achievements unique to Leliana's Song, although Kristjanson would like to "let players discover the details" for themselves when the new DLC hits the Xbox Live Marketplace on July 6th.
