Dragonball Z Goes Online. . . . MMO Style.

200pxdbologogg7.jpg

One of the most recognized anime shows & mangas of all time, finally goes Online, in the form of an MMORPG. It's currently under production in South Korea, and the man himself Akira Toriyama (Creator & Artist of Dragonball & Dragonball Z) will be personally supervising with the title throughout it's entire development, so that it stays true to the world and reality of the Dragonball manga. Beta testing is scheduled to begin in South Korea this summer, and is to be released in Japan sometime in 2008. Unfortunately there is no current information for a European or American release, however judging based on the massive international success of the Dragonball franchise, it's a high probability that we'll be seeing a UK & US release sometime in 2008 or 2009. The game is to be released for the PC, and the Xbox 360 only...Bandai will be developing the Xbox 360 version of the game, and the game has been titled: "Dragon Ball Online"

Story

Dragon Ball Online, is set in the Age of 1000, exactly 216 years after the end of the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament (The concluding tournament of Dragonball Z). The player will take the role of one of the many warriors living in their respected worlds. There will be a range of different races that you'll be able to choose from, such as: Humans, Namekians, Saiyans, etc. Players will be able to travel the world in search of dragon balls, and to train themselves to compete in the annual Tenkaichi Budokai Tournaments. While training, the player will occasionally be able to sense disasters that strike the world. The Earth is divided into pieces by a villainous organization known as the Dark Eye, which is lead by a mysterious individual. Receiving guidance from Time Patrol Trunks, the player sets out on a journey to defeat the mastermind and save the world, meeting other players along the way, and interacting with the denizens of the Dragon World, including characters from the original series (Most likely a few Androids, Goku Jr., Vegeta Jr., Pan, Master Roshi, Fortune Teller Baba, Piccolo, Mr. Popo, and Dende. As the rest of the original Z-Fighters are dead.)...

Features

Currently, there will be at least three playable races: Humans, Namekians and Saiyans. Players will be able to further customize their avatars with a variety of options, including hairstyles, skin tones, and clothing. Human & Saiyan players will begin their journey on Earth, recruited by Time Patrol Trunks to help save the world, while Namekians will begin on New Namek, guided by Saichoro to help those on Earth. Players also have the option to start their journey as a child, A feature that is rarely featured in most popular RPG's & MMORPG's (excluding Fable of course). However, if you choose that option, the time of the game shall be longer than if you were to begin as an adult.

Hmmm..... I'll say this: It will be interesting to see how many variations of the character names in the manga/anime we will see.
