This looks like it will rockzorz my sox. I was a huge DBZ fan as a kid. I cant wait for a good ole slice of nostalgia. Graphics remind me of the cartoons a lot.

I doubt they will let you have screen names of any cannonical characters though.

Just like wow they will force you to rename

I caught a quick glimpse in that trailer also. When that kid with teen Gohan's hair kicks that dinosaur, he briefly turns into a Super Saiyan... Guess will be seeing a mass online community of Super Saiyans.

I thought that too, thing is the DBZ world is perfect for an MMO and if done correctly could be amazing.

Update 2:

Here's a key visual for the box art:

New info

To date, three playable races have been announced: Human, Namekian, and Majin. Saiyans no longer exist in the world as of Age 1000, and will not appear as a playable race. Players will also be able to create their characters as children, allowing them to age over time, much like characters in the Dragonball series. A wide variety of skills appear to be able, including energy attacks such as the Kienzan or the Kamehameha. Players will additionally have access to weapons, including gloves, guns, and staves.

It is worth noting that Dragon Ball Online ignores the events of Dragon Ball GT, and even appears to contradict some aspects of the anime (for example, the Yardratians, who did not appear in the manga, look completely different in DBO and the Dragon Ball Z anime). Due to the high level of supervision from Akira Toriyama, as well as the involvement of Bird Studio and Shueisha, DBO may actually be considered the true, canon continuation of the Dragon Ball manga.

Races and Character Classes

Human

* Martial Artist - Fighters who specialize in martial arts, comprable to characters like Yamucha.
* Spiritualist - Mystics who specialize in spiritual, ki-based techniques.
* Engineer - Mechanics and inventors who build weapons and utilize technology, much like Bulma.

Namekian

* Dragon Clan - Members of the Namekian support caste which have abilities including healing, such as Dende.
* Warrior - Members of the Namekian warrior caste, which includes Piccolo and Nail.

Majin

* Strange Majin - Slender, evil-looking Majin who have a similar appearance to Majin Buu's original, pure form.
* Large Majin - Fat, happy-looking Majin who resemble Majin Buu's good form.

-------------

With the loss of the Saiyan race as playable characters, looks like we can rule out the possibility of mass online Super Saiyan wars. Alot of fans are going to be disappointed about that one.

Re: Dragonball Z Goes Online. . . . MMO Style.

Hard to believe they removed the central race to the whole of the DBZ story but interesting none the less and glad to hear an update about this.
