Driftwood flit switch

I have finished "giftwood for driftwood" and "island getaway" and am trying to hit the flitswitch so I can get the gold key. I have hit it till it has gone to a different island and is on top of a tree trunk up a little hill that I cannot walk up. The picture in the strategy guide shows a wodden ramp leading up to that stump. It has only been an hour or so since I did giftwood for driftwood...am I too soon on this quest? will the wood ramp appear later or is my game glitched?

Do some other missions, it will appear eventually.

There's a quest in Millfeilds you have to do first, where you have to lead some guy to Driftwood. Do that quest, wait a few in-game days and then return to Driftwood and the village will be fully established, with a ramp up to the flint switch =)
