Dumb Question

I'm not even talking about what happens when a nuclear plant goes haywire. Do you have any idea how long it takes for depleted uranium rods to lose all their radioactivity?

We just keep dumping that crap into the ground were it will still be very dangerous long after we've killed off the human race in some trivial nuclear war. Doesn't matter if it is safe for us humans now.

Apparently the radioactive waste is stored until it's no longer hazardous, before it's thrown away as waste.

Isn't it technically never? But yeah I know that they're pretty volatile things.

Ok, but what's worse, nuclear waste deposits deep underground, or carbon pollution destroying the environment? I'm not saying it's a great source of power, I'm just saying that it's hella cleaner than coal, and hella more efficient.

The kind of radioactive waste we're talking about stays radioactive for, at best, thousands of years. Usually we're talking about millions.

True, true...

But I do agree with Arseface: Nuclear fission > Burning coal. But then again, Nuclear fusion > Nuclear fission.
