Easter...

Re: Easter...

The Egg represents new life and re born because jesus was given a new life and was re born , The egg is traditional it just the sweetie makers find it a good way to make some nice cash.

Good Friday is called good friday as it it the day jesus died and that is good because he died to save all of or sins which is good.

There is no traditional easter meal it is just a not as cool christmas dinner.

the bunny is another thing what is commercial really it should be a chicken .

Funny that you should mention it, because that actually happens here in Sweden! When I was making this thread I totally forgot to mention that for some reason they decided to throw witches into the mix up here. Supposedly the Christian Easter coincides with a sort of "witch migration" from medieval times where all Swedish witches got up on the brooms and flew to a big meeting on an island(called "Blåkulla" if you wish to look it up for some obscure reason) where they had sex with Satan and stuff.

Yeah, now that you mention it, we have a similar thing here, although I`m not sure if its the same holiday or just close together with easter.
We even have a children`s play kalled "Väike nõid" ("Little Witch") about a little witch who, despite the restriction, goes to the hill (can`t remember the name) with older witches.

Re: Easter...

Quite obviously, Jesus was a the son of a chicken and a rabbit and was basically an egg laying bunny who often ate too much chocolate which proved to be indigestible and just slid out his arse with his eggs, making the easter egg. Then one day he found a time machine and went back to his birth, saw everyone giving him presents and decided he wanted presents again, and so made the present - giving elemnet of Easter.

Good Friday - derivation of 'God Friday'

Hot Cross Buns - Jesus' cross, slapped on a bun.

Re: Easter...

"Easter, the day Jesus rose from the dead, what should we do?"
"How 'bout eggs?"
"Well what does that have to do with Jesus?"
"Alright, we'll hide 'em."
"I don't...I don't follow your logic."
"Don't worry, there's a bunny."

And that's why we celebrate Easter the way we do. ^_^

My Easter dinner this year was a double whopper with bacon, fries, and a Dr. Pepper. It was delicious. This is mostly because I took a trip with my parents to see a college campus and there wasn't really anywhere else to go, but it was still pretty cool. It seems that my family is celebrating Easter less and less every year. The only thing that's consistent is that my mom gets a bunch of candy for me, my brother, and my dad, which is really the only part I give two sh*ts about. I no longer get dragged to church, breakfast is becoming much less extravagant, and we didn't even have a special dinner this year.

\Unrelated question: How many episodes are currently out in the new season of SP?

There's four. I've only seen the first two, though. The one with Tiger Woods and the one with Scrotie McBoogerballs.

Who wants to start a religious argument?

Normally I would pounce on that opportunity like a fat kid on a cupcake, but I'm feeling rather lazy at the moment.
