Just tried playing my favorite game (Half-Life 2) so I tried installing it, my Half-Life 2 was registered on my old computer, which I cannot remove it from as it is crashed and broken, so now I cannot play, Half-Life 2, Orange box, Counter-Strike or Portal, I also cannot play Battlefield 2142...

I thought that these were registered to your account and not computer? Other than some DRM'd games that have a certain amount of game installs.

when you installed the game they asked you for the cd-key.
you put the cd-key in and its tied into your steam account.
You can play any game on your steam account on any pc.

I'm guessing what you did was just install the game and used your cd-key on a new account which will not work since its already been used on your old account.

Solution: Log in with your old steam account
