Evil Dead: The Musical! - A modest review by a modest man
Once in a long while something comes along which makes existance in my pitiful little town one ounce more enjoyable yet manages to set me back 30 dollars. This came in the form of Evil Dead: The Musical! A spinoff of Sam Raimi's Evil Dead horror trilogy, starring the ever amazing Bruce Campbell. For all of those who need a clearer, yet less awesome understanding of who Sam Raimi is, he is the guy who directed the Spiderman movies.
I went with two friends to the aptly named Campbell Theater (no, it is not a strange coincedence) downtown. We had SplatterZone tickets, which ensured we would be sprayed with lots and lots of fake blood and gore. We all wore white XXL t-shirts as to soak up as much as we could and take home as a souvenir. The play had as much intensity, hilarity, and plain old awesomeness as the movies. I suggest all who have not seen the movies go out and rent, buy, or steal them ASAP, because if you do this your life will be automatically worth living. Then after watching the movies I suggest you see the musical. Remember to wear a white t-shirt, and if they do the play right the floor should look like the bathroom in Trainspotting and you should look like you just murdered someone.
Linkage:
Evil Dead: The Musical!
The Evil Dead/ Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness
Bruce Campbell
