even if it was female, he should try and sound like a girl.

He could be the Hero of Fable III. They did say he/she can talk now.

Ummm...no. Simon Pegg is good for a comedy lead or a side character but he is never going to be the lead for Fable 3, that would really ruin the experience for me.

Considering the big names they have lined up already, the hero is probably going to be voiced by less well-known actors. (Budget and all that.)
