If you side with the Balverines in the missing statue quest (as a king) then they tell the player to come back and visit sometime, and that you are always welcome in their forest.

Does anything actually become of that? I mean I returned to the Silverpines hoping to see some sort of friendly balvorine settlement yet they still attack me.

However I think the real mystery here is why did the rich folk decide to live in Millfields and constantly be harassed by bandits and balvorines? Surely they could afford a heavier guard presence or real estate in a less troublesome area?
