Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

60 years? YOU *****. You told me 50!

Also, STEAM SHIP! Yes, I'm aware it also had a mast and a sail-- most/many early steamships did. You could also see huge, stereotypical paddle wheels. Now all I need is a train.

"It's about... dominating people." YO! Tsuyu! Sounds like we've got something for you here. Also, the dog kept walking through people. And the Hero scolded and pet his daughter the same way he did his dog in the last game. Plus a little tossing in the air.

Combat looks pretty awesome. Not sure anymore about the huge butterfly-looking black and red wings. The hammer... sorry, it just looked kinda dumb.

60 Years.
Possibly a time Skip.
Like the SPIRE or something.

Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

What in the world are you talking about? No time travel involved. It's fifty/sixty years later and your kid is running around fighting the tyrant who succeeded you.

Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

You were going about he said 50.
So I'm saying that another 10 years could have passed maybe a quest...

You know what forget it :/

Same here... He always hypes up some game mechanic then it either ends up not being that good, or not being in the game at all...

I mean what? Are you going to drag everybody around... looks like a mechanic that would get old (fast).

This game looks amazing, and I'm believing everything I see in a video, nothing more, nothing less. And only if that gameplay were running on a 360, not a pc. We all know how the first one turned out after being ported from pc to xbox.

Well, that's the beauty of the morphing weapons. You don't have to have a specific kind of weapon. If you bought a hammer, and it started to look like that, you could just easily do something different with it, and it will change into something entirely different. :P

He was being sarcastic. He was pretending to make a big deal out of it because we all know that it doesn't matter whether it's 50 or 60.

I loved this demonstration of touch, especially when the beggar was being dragged to the factory, and he started pulling away.

The combat did look fairly similar to that of Fable 2, but it did look better.

Overall, I wasn't disappointed by anything in this video.

What PC? Sure as hell looked like that was a couple of 360 Elites or whatever they're called sitting next to the TV.

EDIT: And no, I can't claim that I was being sarcastic. Well, in the first one I was. In the second I was just assuming fablepower was a gibbering idiot, and I apologize for that.

I know, which is why I'm believing this video. Fable 1 was always demonstrated on pc, so when they attempted to port it to xbox, they couldn't, and had to dumb it down alot. That was my point.

i didnt really catch what the wings did for you...are they just for show or are tey magical? id love to fly

Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

Awesome video +rep
I for one smiled when the dad picked his daughter. Maybe because I know what that feels like. It's an awesome feeling by the way. I loved the way the hero used the pointed end of his hammer to pull the legs out from under the brigand. SWEET!

Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

It's probably because they work so much on the map lay-out and such and they develop character movement seperately. I hated that at first in Fable 2... but it grew on me in a strange kinda way. Added to the hallucinogenic dream-like atmosphere of it all.

Re: Fable III presentation at GDC[Shows Touch]

This looks so awesome, I can't wait! I actually like the idea of touch, it will make it feel like you are interacting with the characters in the game on a deeper level. And I don't think the wings will serve much of a purpose, all I know is that you can show your true self through them, as well as show how powerful you are and your level of purity/corruption and good/evil. Should be sweet, buying it the day it's released!
