Fable III to feature Multiplayer over Xbox Live

Something interesting I just found. This was posted on the site (see below) on the 11th of January. We all know multiplayer (can we even call it mutiplayer :ermm: ) was very poor in Fable II, but lets face it, it could have been ALOT worse . . . right? lol

Fable 3 will feature 'multiplayer over Xbox Live', according to a job listing featured on developer Lionhead Studios' website.

The listing, which is simply titled 'Standard Gameplay Programmer', states that the successful applicant will join the Fable team to work on combat systems within upcoming RPG Fable 3.

But more intriguingly, the job description also states that the employee will be required to "ensure that all of the features worked on work in multiplayer over Xbox Live."

Multiplayer in Fable 3 confirmed, then.

Of course this could just simply be an extension to the co-op system seen in Fable II, where two players were able to hook up and complete tasks together within Albion. Alternatively it could be a completely new, as yet unannounced multiplayer component. Who knows?

Fable 3 launches on Xbox 360 this Christmas, reportedly just prior to the release of Halo Reach.

Not much new info but I guess it's something to keep Fable fans wondering what to expect at the unveiling coming up very soon

I really doubt it'll be the same kind of thing as in Fable 2. There was so much criticism of Fable 2's online gameplay, there's no way they're going to keep the basics of Fable multiplayer the same.

Does this mean the same as Fable 2 where you see orbs or ... ?

Fable 2's multiplayer was basic, very basic and felt a step backwards in technology when compared to other games multiplayer aspects. Really hope they totally revamp it and start fresh with a new system. So much wasted potential with the last system.

Exciting! Unless they just revamp the old 'multiplayer'. I hope it does add some sort of large-scale interaction, either PvP or free roaming with other heroes.

I can't imagine they will have other peoples heroes appearing in other peoples games while playing. Orbs will probably still be the 'gateway' to multiplayer but I hope they have taken in all the criticism they received from Fable II and have done something completely different.
