Fable Legends Cancelled & Lionhead to shutdown

It's their own fault, to be honest. That game should have been out as a launch title. Most of the talent was gone anyway.

Fable Legends was an amazing game... Sadly we had people in the beta who knew nothing about the game and lacked the ability to learn the mechanics of the game and then went to the official forums and complained about how everything was "Overpowered" which caused Lionhead to go back and nerf a lot of stuff that didn't need to be nerf. Its funny the one time Lionhead relies on the fans to give accurate feedback to help them make the gameplay better the fans screw them over. Which then causes the game to become unplayable... literally, So I would have to disagree with you when you say its Lionheads fault. They did what you the fan asked them to do and these so called fans gave terrible feedback... and to add to insult these fans who gave terrible feedback go to other forums and websites to say things like "Ive played in the Fable Legends Beta since it started and it was a terrible game". See you'll probably say well then Lionhead shouldn't have listen to the fans... True but then if they did the fans would just complain about how they never listen and they would end up in the same place they are now.

By the way the complaining and nerfing was the main reason it was delayed... you can thank your so called fans for that. The developers were already 15 patches ahead of the current patch they released and they had to go back every time someone complained. So its their fault for giving the so called "Fans" what they want?

This is why fan service can only go so far, developers should always have a vision and a goal in mind to get to when creating a game and by all means listen to fans but dont change the fundamentals of your game too much over that time.

I only got to play it briefly, but Fable Legends was a fun game with lots of potential. People shouldn't be crying about balance in a beta. It's up to the developers to collect statistics and decide what needs buffing and nerfing. The beta was there to give the game exposure and let people enjoy it, and I think if you didn't do that you really missed out.

It was a gorgeous game with a fun concept. It's a shame that was lost on so many fans.

They didn't have a choice is what I'm saying... at the beginning of the beta they were doing alright and they were deciding for themselves what was best for the game but then down the road they lost nearly half of the beta testers do to the fact that people were upset they weren't listening to the beta testers (which they were) and then Lionhead became desperate so they started doing everything the beta testers asked them to do. Unfortunately those "Beta Testers" only played for like 5 mins and didn't have any clue how the game mechanics worked and gave terrible feedback. Now tell me how is any of that Lionheads fault?

I didnt specify that it was Lionhead that was at fault as players complaining caused the changes but Lionhead would have had the stats of the playtime of players & damage statistics etc and cant bend to the will of every player otherwise your game simply becomes muddled and confused. At times like this polls should be taken on official Beta forums for changes and an overview of these changes should be looked into (Battlefield did it regularly in regards to weapon damage). I had access to the closed beta forums (so unsure if this actually happened) but I didnt actually get a chance to play the Beta myself (was sent key by Chris Hohbein of Lionhead).

They did ask our feedback a lot. On the forums and in numerous surveys they sent out over the course of the beta. It's a shame that you never got to play. Life was crazy busy for you.
