Re: Fable Multiplayer?

It can't work. Online is the answer, but I'm not too pleased by it.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Why CAN'T it work? And I don't want online Multiplayer. That's not fair to people who don't have it.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Split-screens CAN work, but they won't work greatly for this game. Shared screens can't work. Period. Why? People will fight over ability to change the camera zoom etc.

Well okay. You don't know it couldn't work. I never seem to have a problem with it. Neither do my friends. :unsure:O.o

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Maybe it's just a personal preference thing? Or maybe they could implement something that let you choose either online multiplayer or splitscreen?

I dunno...

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Still a very tough thing to figure out with the style of game that Fable is but it will be interesting to see 'how' they implement it if they decide to.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

I just think you'd miss out on the world of Fable by having your screen split up...

Yeah id agree, plus only shooters these days seem to do split screen and work really well. Even they are deciding to go for more online options though such as co-op over xbox live as well as split screen so...

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

free roam or game modes or both will work for me.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

OK online dual adventuring would be cool. Maybe with a max number of people in the same game (magnificent seven??)

Another thought, that I thought that I posted already and may have, is achievement points for fable giving way to certain items/quests. If you get enough points you can trade it in for game content. Has anyone had experience with achievement points?

I haven't worked with achievement points yet or Xbox Live for that matter. Heck I don't even have an Xbox 360 or since my xbox died one of those, sad really. On a brighter note I have enough to get a 360 but I'm waiting until "zepher" and I pass the 70-290 test. OK that was random :P

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

I always thought xbox live in the arena(from original Fable) against other heros would be good

Sorry someones already said that

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Just, out of curiosity...Why couldn't you technically have *both* split screen and X-Box Live? (Heck, at least give me LAN :-P)

I submit to you this: I have a 56k connection in my house and only a Silver subscription to X-Box Live (that, admittedly, I can't really USE at my house). The reason for this is that money is tight for my family right now and will continue to be for a while. (Don't start on "Get A Job!" :-P I already have one, more or less, and my money would only go into helping the parents, more than likely. As it tends to already.) On top of that, most of my friends, when playing together, would rather be, you know, in the same house. "Ease of Use" doesn't really help us in these areas. By the same token, I want the option of using X-Box Live eventually. The *option*. Granted, this will make the development period even longer.

At the least give me LAN so I can bring my 360 to a friend's house and go upside his Hero with a broadsword. I'm anti-social enough as is.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

I have Fable: The Lost Chapters for PC. The split-screen won't work or at least everyone will hate it. No one likes having only half a screen and it confuses  so you can't even hit a Troll.... Well, the shared screen could work of course but I wouldn't recommend it. For that to work the camera would have to be from top or sideways. And that way the characters had to be very very small to see a big enough area on screen. It would also mean people fighting to have the center. If one guy wanted to kill this one thing and the other this other thing... ^^ then... it'll be like Lego Star Wars or Lego Indiana Jones. You know what I'm talking about if you've played those games. One wants to go that way to get a donkey to friggin ride on and the other wants to kill men in plastic armor... I hate that. So I'd vote for the online option. There's more options playing with people world-wide (this would work great for the PC, and you X-Box owners will just have to live with that silly console there) As one of you said the online would probably just be in the Arena, or else Lionhead would have to expand the world (which they'll probably have to anyway), with bigger towns and areas. And (sorry for many many 'and's) if they did that, please get rid of the limitations. Such as the little irritating roads you HAVE to walk on. You could make it possible to make it bigger. You know where you could hide behind the trees :ninja:or just walk around in the forests not on those damn roads. O.o Great game btw.. xD

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

This thread is 1 year old and i think you missunderstood it's concept :S

How Do I Actualy Get Online And Play With Buddies? :ninja:O.o

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

ok, Fable 2's multiplayer is a little interesting. First off, it is not two custom heroes battling it out, it is the host's custom player and your friend (called a guest in your world) can make a preset character, good/evil, boy/girl, what kind of weapon. Guest cannot have their own character.

On the screen it shows you that you split the money and EXP, what the ratio might be is up to the host. That implies that guest does maintain his skills, but nothing else. I haven't done multiplayer myself to know whether or not being guest and going through the story transfers to your character (i.e. you beat the game as guest and it transfers as you beat the game as your own.) But being guest has its perks, you get to keep what you get (I could be wrong as I haven't personally tested this) Host keeps his dog, guest loses his, Lionhead said they did this because of a framerate problem.

as to how you get this, its sort of simple. Your friends that are playing at the same time and playing in the same area in game show up as orbs with their gamer picture. You target them (LT) and press A. Options show up and you choose "Interact". That brings up the 360 profile info and you choose "Invite to game". Then you do the previouis paragraph. Easier way to do this is to just invite your friends to a game via the ingame 360 menu. Their main character won't be transported or anything, although I would advise to save before joining a session.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Congrats, you bumped a 2 year old thread. Spread the confusionnnnn!

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

And you spammed in it :w00t: He added relevant information, get off his arse.

Also I do notice the irony that I myself am not adding the the thread topic in any way, making it spam.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

Heheheheh. Methinks this should be locked...O.o.

Re: Fable Multiplayer?

multiplayer does have its benefits but it is also kinda lame. the camera angles are horrible and most of the time u get screwed over with the whole money and experience getting carried over after being a henchman for the other hero or villian. Other than that its great getting to fight side by side with one of your friends. only thing i add is that lionhead could have alowed the henchman to be a little bit more interactive.:D
