Go anywhere, do whatever you want. But you might want to pull up your Pip-Boy (B button on 360) and check the available quests, "Search for Your Dad" should be the active one, and there should be a marker on your compass (lower left corner) pointing to Megaton.

Re: Fallout 3

It took me awhile to get use to everything about that game I would prefare Oblivion well if it helps not for from where the first town I think its Megaton there is a scrap yard with a group of bandits teasing a dog you could try to help him if you want but go to Megaton and find a guy called Colin Moriarty he has information about your dad that would be the best place to start also within Megaton there is an atom bomb you can defuse it and save the people of Megaton or blow it up by talking to a guy called Mr Burke he has all the details well thats pretty much everything I know for you to start hope it helps

Re: Fallout 3

Within Megaton there is a hot but screwed-up chickcalled Moira offering a quest called "Wasteland Surivial Guide". Doing her, it, allows you to become familiar with some locations and mechancis of the game as well as giving you useful Perks if you complete the quests and doing all the side-objectives.

Re: Fallout 3

^ The Wasteland Survival Guide is probably the best way of getting acquainted with the game. You may want to set yourself up with either the Megaton or Tenpenny faction through the 'Power of The Atom' quest in Megaton.

Hm, interesting. Wonder if I should use a condom.
