Fan Fiction - Competition?

I was wondering if everyone who can be bothered submit a few rare items as a prize for a fan fiction compeition, where everybody submits their seperate threads with the story on, and when all of the threads have been collected (say after a certain period of time), open a poll and leave it for a few days for people to vote.

I suggest, if we go forward with this that the judges are the forum mods, or a selected panel.

I also propose that each forum user has a one-story limit, to avoid unfair ruling, etc.

Coming to the end of my little proposal, I suggest the prize fund be kept with a forum mod and member of the judging body, or shared between them to avoid scamming issues.

Furthermore, and finally, if this idea goes forward, I shall submit 5 Rising suns towards the prize and enter my 'Hybrid Theory.' into the draw.

Everyone has there own way of criticisms, some might like or dislike the subject, format, length, style of a story. Everyone will see there own opinion of the story. Making a contest of it is not the easiest thing to do. 1 sentence can be nothing to someone and Amazing to another. So it would be harder to "judge" the story since every criticism posted could be a totally different view of the story. This is hard compared to a Art contest or Talent.

Make it have to be a certain length on a given topic?

Writing contests are easy.

Topic.
Minimum Word Length.
Guide Lines.

And a few judges that judge on originality, creativity, grammar, etc, etc.

Jakuro, would you enter the Comic Making Competition? It's really quite good and I've entered some in other forums. I'll post the rules up and actually get it started if enough people get interested.
