So I've been dragged into the 21st century at last with a brand new smartphone courtesy of my lovely husband.

Not got the first clue how to operate a smartphone but I'm sure one of the kids can help me...fairly certain the ear bit is still at the top and the speaky bit is at the bottom...or at least I hope so.

Feels like I ought to have some sort of special ceremony to say goodbye to my old Samsung which has served me well over the years and survived almost every unnatural disaster a phone can endure...but I think I'll just bin it instead.

I too ditched my trusty D600 some years ago now but I still have it in the cupboard, it never let me down so I couldnt just throw it away. Im due an upgrade on my current smartphone (HTC Desire) soon I think so might end up joining the Apple Brigade. I do like the Samsung Galaxy phones though, pretty sleek looking just a little big to hide well at work.

No joke, I am so confused by this phone but it's so very pretty I don't think I care. Downloaded a load of utterly addictive but pointless games to waste my battery life and was promptly told I had exceeded my MB usage for today - forgot I'm on prepay so It's limited. Blah :(

Then Google synched it to all my contacts - or indeed anyone I have ever ever ever ever ever been in touch with since I started my Google account and...yeah, who the hell is Mr. A. L. Naughtbridge anyways?

It is a nice sleek phone - bit on the wide side but at least I can't lose it - and the internal whatsit that makes it recognise landscape from portrait can be a bit...slow at times. But it's pretty and has a nice big screen for my old lady eyes to read stuff and I didn't pay for it so it's all a bonus to me :D

A good choice, to be sure. My phones are always Samsung. I've never had a problem with their phones.

My phones storage has been playing up lately got a 3GB memory card for it but my internal phone storage is down to 15MB and no apps or anything seem to store to memory card same goes for updates. So I cant update anything or download anything new because apparently I dont have the space. I pay around £25 a month for Unlimited Texts 600mins of calls and Unlimited Data. Ive only ever used 6mins of calls a month (anti-social and never call anyone) I just send mass texts.

I'm sure that one of these days I'll be dragged kicking and screaming into the world of smartphones and come to love it just as much as the next guy.

That said, enjoy your phone. May it fulfill your deepest ambitions and never become so smart that it thinks humans are imperfect and need to be eradicated. If that day comes, you and everyone else will realize that I'm humanities last, best hope for survival.

Lol im typing this from my new phone and its weird and slow and lacking in punctuation. Gonna hate phone me when i get on the computer and see what ive become.

Can I please have my D600 back now?
