Couldnt actually pick anything right now as i havent had time to play around with all the features and actually wasnt aware of some of those in the poll.

Re: Favorite thing about the NXE

I love the new interface, and the smoothness of everything. Glad to see it's lag-free as well, not to mention it's kinda funny seeing a bobble-head version of myself on there.. I was really getting bored of the stale look of the old interface.

My only gripe so far, is the Themes.. they're a bit of a disappointment, and you still can barely see them when the windows/cards and the 360 Sphere surface are in the way. Custom themes are squished and stretched so they look messed up and rather unsightly. No idea if Microsoft will fix that, but it's better than nothing I guess.

I also like the new guide interface as well, definitely an improvement over the old one.

@ Gikoku

The market has the same themes, but enhanced for NXE. They are pretty much the same thing, they just look better.

Better how? Most of them are now just one picture with their resolution negatively altered (maybe it's just that way for SDTVs, and not HDTVs). Some have been improved specifically for the NXE, while others haven't been touched at all. Most you can't even enjoy the background because 60-70% of it is blocked by the menus and surface of the 360 orb.

Example: Like a picture of a favorite band.. Their bodies are blocked by the ground surface, while the menu cards block their faces.. Or a headshot of a loved one, and the only thing visible is their forehead..

Some are still nice to look at even with the blockage, but others are a disappointment in my opinion. It would've been better if you could have an option to make the ground surface invisible.

calso who is major nelson?

Captain of the Xbox Live team, if I remember correctly.

Re: Favorite thing about the NXE

I like it - although as I said to Tsuyu last night the girl avatars have a much more limited range of clothing, accessories and other stuff than the male avatars...

I love how the achievements are displayed now although it's all a bit Windows Vista in places...I don't really use the dashboard much, or indeed many of the XBL features, so I might just be persuaded to use it more now...

And to be honest - it's not like the male collection is that big to begin with. I certainly hope that this is just the "release day" edition, and that they will make the outfitting part 'complete' as time goes on - for free. Though I'm pretty damn sure we will have to shell out cash for it in the end.

Thats because most females change their clothes and outfits more times in a week than meals they have in a year.

I cant wear that again ive already worn it once...

Im hoping they dont start charging for everything as it is quite limited right now as you stated. At the moment as the Avatar clothing was designed by Fashion students in London, and put onto Live by Warwickshire-based Rare they cant charge if this remains like that.

Was mentioned also here:

NXE: Old themes gone bad - CVG

Its down to the way the old themes were designed around the old layout, they simply need to be redesigned and have custom themes automatically scale to the right sizes.

Knowing Microsoft, they most definitely will charge you for the virtual clothing... Not to mention I remember an article on I think Joystiq some months ago, stating that they will be charging for future releases of Avatar accessories.

I see, well hopefully they'll get ontop of that soon.

Well I wouldn't be surprised if they treat the Avatar accessories like the Dashboard Themes. Most will cost money, while others are free.. like movie t-shirts or caps.

Yeah i can imagine that being the case.

Re: Favorite thing about the NXE

I like the fact you can mess around with your avatar during customisation/gamer pic, like making him/her do little actions displaying emotion like sadness, anger, joy etc... but my favourite bit was making him burp. that kept me entertained for minutes. i lost it laughing, then started shaking his head around to make him dizzy. my kids thought it was hilarious too

Re: Favorite thing about the NXE

I managed to make mine bump her head on the TV screen by making her do some headbanging. Quite hilarious, and the sudden "BOP!" sound scared the bejesus outta me!
