Every week i will post a 'Featured Game' in a new thread and sticky it. Could be one people have suggested to me doing over the course of the week, one of my most recently played games, an old favourite or a game i purchased and maybe didnt like.
I will post the details of the game and sometimes DLC and regardless of whether you have played it or not people can post what they liked in the game/ or liked the look of in the game and what they didnt like or thought could have been improved or what put them off the game if they didnt purchase it.
Then over the course of the week people can voice their opinions (in an adult manner and respecting others opinions) might help some gamers try some games they thought they wouldnt enjoy or change some opinions.
Following is a brief description of my thoughts...

Platform - Xbox 360
Release Date
November 7th 2008
Average Metacritic Score
360 - 93/100
Been a long time since i played this and been meaning to get around to finish the co-op campaign and horde mode for a long time too. However i really enjoyed the game, a solid sequel to the superb original game. It feels bigger, better and bolder than the original with the original laying down the foundations and this cementing them into place. You learn much more about both sides of the war and it brings a more emotional factor into the fray.
Enemies that were teased and only briefly seen in the original in dramatic moments are now thrown into the mix a lot. Varied levels when compared with the first game too and campaign is longer. Still think that the ending was a little weak in comparison but a minor gripe. To add to everything else there is more variety in weapons and moves too which are a nice touch. Horde is a great mode for online play and split screen and is rather addictive.
I await Gears 3 in anticipation that it will have again improved on everything it sets out to and the Unreal Engine continues to look as good today as it always has.
Pros
- Story takes a more prominent role
- GFX still stand up to those of todays games
- Sound effects sound meaty and as they should
- Horde is brilliant and addictive
- Drop in Co-op mode works great
- Variety of levels, weapons, game modes is good
Cons
- Some framerate issues & glitches
- Friendly AI intelligence can be frustrating
- Voice acting isnt great in parts
- Plot leaves a lot of holes here and there
Now for this week people can voice their opinions on the game and i will do another game next week... Pros and Cons you found or if you havent played it things that appealed to you/didnt appeal and why you didnt play it...
Any questions about the thread or suggestions for next weeks featured game send me a message.
