First Anime

I was asked this question just the other day and thought alot about it. To think I was actually able to remember as far back as when and remember my first anime. So i want everbody to think about it and tell what your first was. And feel free to respond but stick to the topic, I want no randomness, got it?

I'll start with telling you mine. It was way back when as a child, when I had no idea what anime was. But then it was still my first. It was Ronin Warriors. I can still remember watching this awsome show about these teens going around fighting evil with these powerful, sci fi-ish samurai armor. I thought it was the coolest thing and loved it like no other. I can still remember all the characters perfectly and used to have all the action figures. Which makes me need to search the net to see if there were any DVD remakes of it.

Mine, back idea when I had no idea what anime was as a child, was Jungle book. :lol:

Wow... now we're going back a good few years... 'fraid the memories not like it once was... Anywho, the first anime feature film I saw was 'The Legend of Crystania'. I thought it was the mutts'-nutts when I first watched it and it isn't a half-bad film even now.

Man, is DBZ or Sailor Moon really the earliest anime anybody's seen? This makes me feel dated... damn.

Well one of the first things released for DBZ series in Japan was a movie released on July 15, 1989 between episodes 11 and 12

Yeah its quite hard to believe how long it took to air elsewhere and how far behind them we were even when it became big.

There's always a fairly big time lapse for some shows, I think its their way of messing with us.

hmmm this sucks tho...i watch the anime naruto and now, Naruto Shippuuden...but its not in US on tv yet...so iwatch it online ^^ im on episode 18...and i read the mangas.....that and Death Note

Well technically, the Dragonball story dates back to 1984. and Sailormoon first started back in 1995, around the time Dragonball Z was finally concluded in Japan.

On topic; my first anime if i remember right was "Gatchaman" a.k.a "G-Force" (1972):

Haha pokemon. That's one of the smartest things someone has ever done - they succeeded in creating 30 minutes segments of commercial for their products and had the children glued to the T.V screen watching it!

I never watched a lot of anime and still don't, but I think that my first was sadly Dragon Ball Z. It wasn't bad or anything, but I didn't enjoy it that much, but if there was nothing else on then I would turn it to that. I don't actually seeing any before that, but then again I was still very young at the time and I can't remember.

I have to admit, Pokemon does seem to have a hypnotic effect. You can avoid then, but if you even catch a glimpse, you can't seem to turn away. Damn those japanese animators and their wicked crafts. The show is as lame as an after-school special, yet can still entertain... at least the game is good.

Also... I hate DBZ, seriously over-played, and not even in a decent way. I like Dragonball, though only becuase its so stupid and ignorant it makes it mildly funny.
