Imo, she should not go back to her family. I wouldn't think it's honorable in killing your own daughter for worshipping basically the same guy.

she can be sent home, but i think that the court should evaluate the parents to make sure that it's a safe environment. Also, she's 17 and on the verge of legal independence so if the parents turn out to be psycho daughter killers she can live with a relative of family friend until her 18th birthday at least.

I think just plain putting her back could look like a very dumb move should things not go over so well in the near future.
