it should stay but get improved. Side games keep the game going on longer. Even though its open ended it ends at a point where theres nothing else to do.

Actually, chess is hinted at in one achievement (against chesty!)

I hope not. I'm really bad at chess. But if Chesty is anything like in Fable 2, his version of chess would be something a little more dangerous than conventional chess...

ya chess would be a good game but you would have to be able to bet and play with freind in co op

ka blam the king is dead i agree the fisty cuffs and fortunes tower do need a revisit the anoying thing is RDR did such a good job at minigames such as five finger roulette poker texas holdem and liars dice that any game that even tried to go for some classic pub games would be instanly branded as a cheap knockoff if you were able to open a casino i agree an option to rig tables or play fair would be a really nice classic fable addition but the only problem with that is there wouldnt be anypoint in playing them anymore because you would win all the time.
