Nothing's wrong "with BioWare", per say. I love BioWare, they are my favourite gaming company and has made many of my favourite games of all time!
However, Electronic Arts (EA), one of the worst developers/publishers there is, bought up BioWare some time ago, to the dismay of many(myself included). EA are the ones partially behind this stupid secuROM crap, so we're a bit concerned this will now feature, unfortunately, in BioWare's next PC titles as EA now "own" them.
You dig?

Did they buy it before or after Mass Effect? It's one of my favorite games of all time.
I feel the need to check up on it myself. They better not ruin, Mass Effect 2,this is so confusing.:'(

Well, in the link to the Wikipedia entry on secuROM Mass Effect was listed as one of the few games using it, m'afraid...
All of this is on the PC only, so if you are playing the 360 version there is no need to panic.

Because EA wanted Bioware and EA will just use hostile takeover method if companies dont sell up. As Bioware agreed to the sale they keep most the control of their own company and have most the say in business decisions.

We will see KOTOR III at some point im sure just not yet, that was down to LucasArts dragging their feet and wanting to make other titles. Wasnt Biowares fault as LucasArts own the Star Wars license as Bioware want to continue it but cant until LucasArts say so.

Maybe I should beg Lucas Arts to allow it to happen, Unless they are jealus that Bioware makes such better games. I'm not having fun with The Force Unleashed.

Bioware will make it as soon as they are allowed to as it was one of the most popular titles they have made so far. LucasArts worked along side Bioware to make KOTOR (KOTOR II was made by Pandemic Studios and LucasArts). The Force Unleashed is good but very challenging in parts, the hard difficulties will be a nightmare (going to try them next ive already done 2 difficulties and got both endings).

One particular part is extremely tricky to do, only took me 2 attempts but i know Steves cousin was having major trouble doing it. We were actually talking to each other on Live as we were both on the same part and he couldnt figure out what to do.
If you are stuck for a while you should make a thread (so we dont go too off topic in this one). To keep myself on topic i will add that SecuROM sucks!

Like almost all pirated games, online gameplay/features is a no-no. But it beats the heck out of malware on your PC and a limit of 3 installations.

I still don't get it...Spore...the probably only game I have lately not pirated so I could play for a couple hours...Weeeell I don't get this problem with Securom...My Spore is working and acting perfectly...I accidentally deleted a planet and i reinstalled 4 times to get the planet again...Spore still works AND my planet is really close to the center of the galaxy this time 
... Unfortunatly the Grox...I pirated the creature creator int he beginning before release though...Its not that hard you just need files and a keygen...you dont need an account...

The problem with pirating the games is...It's just going to make it worse. Securom's in their because they felt games were being pirated too much. Increased pirating will likely just make them come up with something even worse or give up on PC games altogether . So...Yeah. I don't like Securom, no. But pirating isn't the solution; It just makes them seem justified (they aren't). It's pretty much either pay for the game or just don't play it at all, I think.
