Gamestop sucks...

Or EB Games to me... today I went to finish paying off my pre-order for Fable 3, which costs a total here of $100.38. My balance left over on my reciept said $65.38 candian. When I first pre-ordered on May 12th, I had put down $20, which I had a recipet for. Then I put down $10 in trade in credits in September. Last week I paid $5. I had reciepts for every transaction.

Well today I got to pay the money left owning and the manager tells me I still have $75.38 left to pay. I show her the recipets to verify that I had paid what I had paid, and she tells me there is nothing she can do because the computer is telling her this and this. I paid it off because I so desprately want my copy of the game, but I did not leave a happy customer.

SO there goes $10 of mine that was already payed. I know it's a small sum but it's a lot for someone on a budget. Is there any way I can get my money back that I had to pay extra for? They are basically stealing money from me.
 
try and ask for some discount on your next purchase?
or a free item thats worth the same price.
if she is blaming the computer, either she wants to help you, or she easily could of just repaid you, but didnt

She could of as I had proof, she just chose to make a scene, and made it difficult for me. I stood there for twenty minutes with her arguing about it, and I asked her if there was another manager I could speak to and she said no, she was the only one working. It was kind of embarassing o argue and I just wanted the fair price. Just because it's a computer doesn't mean it's right, you know?

And I will be asking for something when I go to pick up my game tomorrow. I'd really not mind even if it was $10 in credits, just as long as I got the refund back.
 
well, if it is a problem with the computer. they i'm sure they could easily just cancel the extra fee.
did she just work at the desk, or was she in charge?
she may have just been uneager to make the decision in case someone shouts at them.

She was manager + she was working counter.

well all i can say is try again, then if not, file a complaint and try and get any form of compensation.
 
gamestop/eb games kinda do suck and are very dumb at times...i say next time you pre-order something do it somewhere else like walmart target bestbuy etc. its way better thats what im gonna start doing...gamestop iare sucj rip offs....my bro got red dead redemption when it came out and like a month later gamestop said you can trade it in for i think $20 or less RIP OFF

good idea but also try another local EB Games store and talk to their manager with the reciept in hand but stay calm because a level head and a little charisma work wonders in these situations
 
Grrr... Gamestop... I found out today that they canceled my order because they saw some "inconsistent address issues" with my debit card. They did not tell me they were cancelling my pre-order of the LE Fable III, they just did it. Got it from Amazon instead, no problems whatsoever, except I'll most likely have to wait a day or two to get it. So yeah, Gamestop does indeed suck.

no, no no no no! not walmart! walmart *atleast the one here* SUCK! id rather game stop.
it isent gamestop its the woman that wouldent give the 10 back. that is messed up. and trust me, alot of bitching can get you FAR ;)
 
Honestly, man? In this situation, you can get a full refund. (What kind of country does Fable cost $100 in, anyway? :p)

You just have to play your cards right and say they overcharged you completely. I'd suggest that you're say you're going to complain to a local watchdog and their management unless they give you a full refund on the product.

As everyone else said, do it calmly unless that doesn't work... In which case you really should make a massive fuss. I mean a MASSIVE fuss. Don't give a **** what anyone else thinks, make the manager feel like your bitch and that you'll be driving customers out of the store. They'll give you whatever you want in return. I don't mean like knock over displays or whatever, just shout out "How DARE you overcharge me for this and then accuse me of lying? How DARE you? Do you treat all your customers like this?". They'll soon be on their way to giving you free stuff. =p

I usually don't have to take it that far but the fact you're willing to do it is enough to put any manager off completely.
 
PEOPLE AT MY GAMESTOP ARE COOL AND WOULD SELL ME THE GAME FOR WHAT I OWED NOT WHAT THE COMPUTER SAID :D MY GAMESTOP PEOPLE ARE COOL
 
Yep. Gamestop does suck. I traded in over 14 games in great condition PLUS a DJ Hero turntable and only got 48 USD.
