Since you're going to be in Florida, hows about taking a day trip over the water to try and kill Castro? Everyone's doing it.

Never understood Base/Softball. I played Teeball during primary school. Why don't you guys play a REAL summer game, like Cricket?

Baseball has bigger bats. And bigger is always better, donchyaknow? bUT t-ball rocks.

Sorry, all assassined out.

Re: G'bye folks,

Well, I don't want to start a thing here, and I know you were jesting, but since I love cricket, and have no strong opinion either way on derailing threads, I'm going to respond in the following fashion.

They're actually about the same size, volume wise. Cricket bats do, however, have a much larger hitting surface (being flat and all).

Not to mention it's a lot easier to kill someone with a baseball bat, and I think that suits America's whole crime persona.

And besides, any games that requires giant novelty mittens to be able to catch the ball is silly.

Oh, really? All Americans care about is how easy it is to beat someone to death with their club of choice? I take offense at that. And to make my innuendo so obvious as to no longer qualify as innuendo-- tell your girl you've got a big, flat, paddle-shaped gift to slip her. See how she reacts. Then offer her the nice, rounded baseball version.

Hey, it's better than hockey. Or jai alai. Or golf. And doesn't cricket require a glove of some kind? And they aren't mittens. There's individual fingers, just sewn together on the outside.

I must be missing something here, I don't get what you're asking.

John was offended. Are you claiming to speak for all other Texans? Come now, sir, clearly they weren't all offended. Just thought I was talking out my ass.

I can't be the first person to take the **** out of America's crime rate.

She might be into that. I know I would.

Still, it means that it's virtually impossible to drop the ball. Cricket actually requires a bit of skill to field.

And there are two types of glove in cricket. Batsman's gloves are to stop a 100mph ball from shattering your fingers (because it is allowed to be aimed anywhere on the batsman's body, not just a spot next to the batsman where it's easy to hit). Wicket keepers gloves are just like normal gloves, but with a bit of webbing between the thumb and forefinger.
