Gnomes or Goyles

There was one on that pirate's treasure quest that was on the side of a mountain...same color at night, well that one was a bit difficult to me...or maybe i'm confusing gargoyles...

Yes, on the pirates quest in Fable 2 there was a gargoyle I always had to double check to make sure I got it because I do not think you can go back there after the quest?
