Good Wii games?

Good Wii games?

Ok, so Jessica's birthday is next Thursday and Steve has bought her a Wii which comes with a couple of games but nothing special (Wii sports and Wii resort). We're trying to think of games to get her which are both decent enough to spend the money on but also fun and appropriate for her age (she'll be 9).

So without telling me how crappy a Wii is, if anyone can suggest some single player and multiplayer games we can get her, that'd be great. Having never owned a Wii before I don't know what's good and what's crap so if anyone here has one, some suggestions would be great

Well how about Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2? Good reviews and generally good gameplay. Or Super Mario Kart Racing? I have it and it's wicked good fun ! . Super Paper Mario is also a must aswell I <3 this so much.

If she is into dancing you could get the Lets Dance game. Also how about The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess?

Thanks guys

I think Zelda might be a little out of her league just yet - she struggled with it when she had a DS so I'm not sure a Wii version will make it any easier; but I'll wop it into Amazon and see what alternative suggestions they have for me.

Just looked at the Dance thingy before I came back to this thread...I think that could be a good option. Mario Kart is something I know she's played with proficiency before and enjoyed it -got my eye on an Ebayer who's flogging this with the wheel fairly cheaply. I heard Super Paper Mario was meant to be a bit tricky in places - or is that just someone whining who has the same kind of gaming skills as me :lol:?

I heard Super Paper Mario was meant to be a bit tricky in places - or is that just someone whining who has the same kind of gaming skills as me :lol:?

Not really that tricky just an excellent bit of fun and very enjoyable.This is a must for any wii owner lol. I sound like a sales assistant

I forgot about that title, but it's an RPG with some real-time strategy elements plus it starts off pretty slow, so I don't know if she'll like it for long. You said she likes Puzzles so if you can find it real cheap, it couldn't hurt to try out.

If you're going to get her Just Dance, then you might want to give Rock Band a try also, especially if she'll have friends over which will give them all some fun. Keeps my sister's daughter well-distracted and out of trouble.

You can't have a Wii without Super Smash Bros Brawl, no matter how old you are. Any Mario Kart game will be awesome too.

Very good game for all ages. It is made mostly for more than one person to play, so you could even play with her.

EDIT:
Never owned a wii? just read that. Dont waste your time buying the "wii" brand controller attachments. They sell them from a lesser brad for like 1£ depending on where you buy it.

The attachments are not necessary, but they add to the games you play, making it more realistic. Like, in some racing games, you can get a steering wheel, or in some combat-oriented games you can get a sword, or in baseball you can get a bat, golf- a golf club, ect.

The wii brand attachments are good and durable and made with more plastic and junk, but the whole point of the attachments is to make the experience more visually real to your sight in reality as well as in the game.

So, look for low priced ones unless you really want to spend more money on the name brand attachments. Completely up to you, i'm just making my recommendations. But they attachments do make some games more in-depth in some cases.
