Graphics Card Problems

So I opened up an old computer and took out its graphics card and was going to put it into my "newer" computer. Yes, the one I am trying to put in is going into to AGP slot, and the old one is coming out of the PCI slot. One problem. It just won't fit. The graphics cards inserting area thing/place to go into the AGP slot is about the space between the two words on this writing. So about a couple millimeters. I've tried for over an hour and couldn't get it to fit. Oh well, the other graphics card isn't all that much better. But still. :(

Any help?

Re: Graphics Card Problems

No, I mean that I am trying to fit the card that is for an AGP slot into the AGP slot, but the card is about a millimeter too long, but it would fit. Oh well, the card is still a piece of junk, so it doesn't matter.

Now that I read the first post, it doesn't make much sense. Damn, I'll just go to bed, I'm damn tired. And +rep anyways, if I can find the damn button. Sooo tired...

Re: Graphics Card Problems

Have you made sure you're aligning it as straight as it can be? It might just be the angle.

But yeah, if none of the pins (they're not pins, but I don't know what to call the connectors on a plus like that). are at risk of damage, then you should be able to file it down enough. Just make sure all the pins line up with their female counterparts.

Re: Graphics Card Problems

I might try that later, not going to rush into something that I can easily mess up. And +rep too Arseface.

I r confused, im guessing your removing a PCI card from computer A and replacing it with an AGP card from computer B, but putting it into computer A's AGP slot and it isnt fitting.. I am tired so thats what I got of it anyway.... I had a similar problem to this on a mates PC I was fixing up for him but it was just the metal plate was too long and got in the way of his motherboard and wouldnt fit in (is this what you mean ?).. actually scrap what im saying tis too early in the morning for tech talk.. will look at this thread after work today and edit.

Re: Graphics Card Problems

Actually, that sounds just like my problem.

And stop saying penor, in makes me laugh. And I don't know why. :(

Re: Graphics Card Problems

If its that part of the gfx card that is clipping the motherboard and preventing you from inserting the card just trim it with a pair of plyers.
