GRAW 2 Taken Off Shelves In Mexican State

The governor of Mexican state Chihuahua, José Reyes Baeza Terrazas has apparently ordered that all copies of Ubisofts Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 to be taken off every shelf. It was originally reported on Mexican Site El Diario and has now been confirmed by a number of other sites.

According to the report on El Diario, the governor considers the game as an insult not only to the city of Juárez, but to the entire country. Authorities are now gathering information on where the game is being sold, reproduced, and distributed in preparation for a massive seizure campaign.

Seems some people are still taking games to seriously, bet Jack Thompson might wade in next and say it glorifies war or something...

The guys whos against games and think they cause people to be violent and say games are warping our minds and all games that are violent should be banned.

Jack Thompson (attorney)

He basically hates anything with any adult content at all

One of the most hated men on the face of the earth.

There is a history of every form of media being blamed for the ills of society Newspapers, books, radio, movies, TV, the internet and computer games. It's called freedom of speech people. I guess that doesn't apply to Mexico. Jack Thomson is narrow minded prick.

It's also called an age restriction - if people don't adhere to it, that's their problem...if your kid copies every move made on Gears Of War with daddy's tool box, don't blame the game - blame yourself for giving a ten year old an adult-rated product...
