The third episode of Guild Wars: Beyond, a series of game additions that lead up to Guild Wars 2, was released today. Currently only the first chapter of the content is available with two more chapters being released in the coming months.

For the Future of Cantha!

Change is coming to Cantha, land of ancient traditions. The Ministry of Purity seeks to unite the Canthan people in defense of their homeland from the hideous Afflicted and other threats. But change can be difficult. Will this rising power usher in a new era of safety and peace or rip Cantha apart?
Winds of Change is a multi-stage storyline set in Cantha that features new quests, new Canthan costumes, and history-making battles. As part of Guild Wars Beyond, Winds of Change sets the stage for the upcoming Guild Wars 2 by portraying crucial historical events.

The first chapter offers the following changes:
  • 42 new quests (including 21 hard mode quests)
  • 2 new weapon sets (including the never before seen Imperial weapons)
  • 2 new costumes (available for purchase in the in-game store)

Again? I doubt they'll release GW2 at all. Three years ago in an issue of PCGamer they promised to have the game released in a year. And Eye of the North was supposed to be the bridge between GW and GW2. I just plain don't trust them anymore.

ANet has never said that they promise any release date. Ever. They've always said "It's done when it's done."

Plus GW2 has it's own team, same as GW. If ANet had let GW stagnate after they'd announced GW2 no one would be playing anymore.

Well I've heard that same story before but they did say they expected it to be done within a year in a interview with PC Gamer. Issue 161. I swear it, I have no reason to lie about this.

Well three years ago there wasn't even a game. That may have been false reporting. The project started in 2007. :O
