Halo 3 Rank

What is everyone's rank in Halo 3? If you do not know what that means, you don't play Halo, so move along to the next thread.

I am a Major. Which I just received last night. So yeah, I'm a lil' excited about that.

I'm currently a Captain (service record) with around 120 EXP points. It's not a terribly high rank but I'm still pleased with it.

My skill level is pretty low at the moment as I'm pretty much concentrating on nailing the Lone Wolves achievements.

I agree mate. It doesn't take very much effort at all to get 20+ skill points in Lone Wolves and from there you'd only need to be on the winning team in a bunch of Social Big Team Slayer games and you could potentially become a Captain Grade 4 with time and patience. You could even keep your head down and let the rest of your team win the matches for you and you would still be awarded EXP points.

When I first started playing Halo 3 matchmaking I used to think, "Uh oh - these dude's are Lieutenants. I'm gonna' get my a-hole handed to me now!" when in fact they were pretty much the same skill - they just planned a tonne more games than me.

I didn't explain that so great but I just think the way EXP is handed out in Halo 3 is a little flawed. Speaking of which, you only need to come third in a ranked match to qualify for EXP. And there's been many times when people in the third, fourth and fifth position in a match have all had equal scores - meaning that they are all joint third and no-one is penalized and loses points. Just seems too easy to level up to me anyway and I'm not even a particularly good Halo 3 player.

I'm a Halo Loser - or whatever the equivalent rank is for someone at rock-bottom of the career ladder :lol:

Thats the main flaw i saw in the system, guess it means rewards for everyone but not a good way to judge whos going to hand your *** to you in a game. :lol:

I am the rank beafore captain. I am probbly better than most people my rank and above. If you want proof look at my file share and you"ll see why i am the best slayer.

I notice by your Bungie.net service record that it says you have over 200 EXP points - if you play some more Lone Wolves matchmaking and reach level 30+ skill then you should level up to General. I think General is the next one up anyway.

Actually, I just got my rank to Major yesterday. I achieved skill 30 on Team Slayer. I figured it would be better to start with whatever game type I was closest to and Team Slayer happened to be it. I don't play Lone Wolves very much but I think I'm at 12 right now.
