I agree. I can't play without hearing some negative comment about how I'm female at least once every time I play. I'd rather just play the game and not be acknowledged at all lately because of that.

well it says it will change it "whenever possible", so it may be that it only works for Elites... I really can't say as I haven't gone in as a female in both types and gone jumping off cliffs or anything =]

I expected more. What I get is the old hilarious/childish art style of Halo and good but not exellent graphics.
Gameplay:
1/10
Same as past Halo games. Run, shoot, take cover when your shield is low so it can recharge (something like auto self heal). Repeat. I like shooters but this game is just simple so casual gamers wont have doubts buying it. There isnt much action in this game your just shooting around. No battles that will bring your adrenaline up. You cant do anything cool because the gameplay must be simple so more people will buy the game. Play FEAR if you want great battles.
Single player:
0/10
Well you know whats the gameplay, right? Add some eye candy and a boring story and you got it. We have seen this plot in a 100 games and movies. I know this is a sequel and the aliens cant be removed like that, but its boring. Why you ask. There isnt a single moment, a single cutscene that provokes some emotion. You simply dont care about the characters. Well you can play the single player if you havent played a shooter game before. Its like a long training for the multiplayer. You cant compare it with Bioshock, Half-Life 2, FEAR or Pray.
Multi player:
1/10
Dont have much to say about it. If you want try it get bored soon and remember that I warned you about this game.
Not good at all because of the simple gameplay. After an hour it gets very boring. There are much better multiplayer shooters like quake wars and the unreal tournament games.
Weapons:
1/10
No comment, really. Ok Ill tell you about them. You wont see anything new and exiting if youve watched some movies or played a few shooters. The shield grenades someone will say. Ive seen that in animation series years ago. Big hammer - ok its new for Halo but many heroes wielded some similar weapon in a 100 games before Halo 3.
Veichles: They doesnt help the gameplay get better. Its the opposite actually. There isnt a single map when you will enjoy driving something while a bot shoots your enemies. In multiplayer the veichles are non realistic. If you crash your warthog in a Spartan ( you know them super cyborgs that cant die Masterchief the main character is one of them ) this will be an ugly picture, because a Spartan weighs much i dont remember how much but its more heavy that he looks.
Sound:
1/10
Who cares? I mean the aliens are talking english. Now you imagine the picture. Funny aliens are running around, speaking english and the same old Halo heroic (it sounds almost like Superman theme) theme plays as you shoot them. Just hilarious. I just tryed to compare it with the soundtrack of DMC games and the cant be compared.
Overall:
1/10
OVERHYPED. If you dont own a xbox 360 or your not a halo fanboy or both I dont recommend you to play this game.
Dont start a war with my post. I cant hate a game. I just dont like it. If I remove half of my brain maybe then Ill enjoy it. It sells so much peple play it. But its just sad that fewer and fewer great games come out every year
and the games are now just a big busyness like the movies. Developers are lazy because we buy the new Halo because its the new Halo. You get what they give you not what do you want. I wait for the cool games for my box Ninja Gaiden II, Fable 2, Devil may cry 4, GTA IV. Now thats some cool games. I got my box a month ago and didnt played gears of war. Ill wait it for the PC. Hope its not so overhyped.
I can see not liking it, perhaps, but giving it 1's and 0's is something I'd expect from the Sony Fanboy Defense Force site...
a 0? seriously? so you've NEVER EVER in your entire life played anything worse than Halo 3? seriously? cause that's what a 0 would mean... you may think people were exaggerating due to hype how great the game was, but I think you're exaggerating due to hating the hype just how poor it was

Don't really see much of an offense with your review (since it's only an opinion.). But what I don't get, is why you threw games like Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, DMC4, and GTA4 in there.. and claiming them to be "cool" but yet seeing Halo 3 as a major flop due to how repetitive and simple it is, when yet all of those games are just as basic as Halo 3 when it comes right down to the gameplay.
NG2 - Same as NG1, You just run around, hopping off walls, and lopping off the limbs of ninjas, repeating that same process hundreds of times.
GTA4 - Same as the past GTA games, You run around shooting people, hijack a car, drive around running people over, going back on foot shooting more people, repeating this same process aswell alot. Usually going on foot to hunt a man down, only to repeat the shooting process again.
DMC4 - Basically the same as NG2 and the past DMC games, only without the intense gore and high speed.
Fable 2 - Same as Fable, You run around killing monsters, leveling up, collecting items.
So it just doesn't make much sense really. But don't get me wrong, i love those games also, but that same old repetitive gameplay but with extra tweaks is why i would even consider purchasing the sequel. Much like the Final Fantasy series (same old gameplay in every one.).
Obviously the games are going to be the same or highly similar to their predecessors, and keeping the same basic concept of the previous installments in the sequels are what keeps interest in the games. I mean, how would you feel if Rockstar decided to just turn GTA4 into a Need For Speed or Ace Combat game just to give a fresh new take on the series?
All in all, you should really think more on what you're saying, cause that spoiler tag paragraph only made your post look hypocritical.
I agree with Hex and Gikoku.... seriously... 1/10
Thats a joke... i mean there arent many multiplayer games you will play that play better than Halo 3 and 4 player co-op is revolutionary also the forge mode simply kicks *** and is a lot of fun and an idea thats never been done before. The simple design is one that shows 'If it isnt broken then dont fix it'. Halo is a great series and you do need tactics to take the enemy down because if your on Legendary and run in like an idiot prepare for it to take forever to complete the game and die a lot as the enemy hands your *** to you time and time again. Plus Unreal Tournament being recommended over Halo... you mean the game with NO single player experience and game thats been the same for about 4 years with nothing new except newer GFX? Also games like GTA being thrown in there that have also became stale and uninteresting over the years after repeating the exact same formula time after time, i loved early ones but after the 3rd and then Vice City (that bored me after about 4 hours) i was so bored i barely played San Andreas. I own FEAR and the expansion for PC and they arent even a patch on the Halo series, sure the story is interesting and some good battles with the slow motion effects for its a stereotypical shooter with typical Japanese horror story and its AI arent even close to Halos. Also the aliens speak english to add some immersion to the game so you can hear them talking tactics and mocking you and Halo has one of the best game soundtracks you will ever hear. Also when do you really care for anything in FEAR? I dont remember really feeling any emotion in the story or being immersed to much and more or less guessed the ending before it happened.
The fact you offer 'No comment' and 'Couldnt care' for most of it shows your probably just hating on it for some reason.
Sony are losers. I cant wait for ng2, fable 2, gta iv, dmc 4. They are sequels also yes. I expect the same gameplay also but I like them. They arent boring like Halo 3. Shooters are a great genre but a big % of them are **** like Halo. Can you point many action games as good as DMC or NG? Or RPGs like Fable? GTA has unique gameplay which is cool because you do whatever you want, I dont expect the next sequel to be revolutionary. These sequels do not have to change their gameplay much, because they are entertaining. But Halo is boring. There are much better shoters than Halo. Why should I like it then? Halo hasnt one of the best graphics, gameplay or music. But many peple play it. Like wow. Nothing special. In fact also boring. So why do millions play it? Because they belive the advertisments and the media. So lets say 10 million people bought halo 3. How much of them are losers and disliked it - max. 5%. To how many halo 3 has become a favorite shooter - at least 50%. This is bad news because more and more gamers are satisfied with the next big boring game. The developers know that. And if something big doesnt happen, like the next big overhyped game sells bad, they will do it again and again.
I said I cant hate a game because I know games are created to earn money and entertain you. Why should halo have a single player? You waste some hours playing it and then play in multi. Im just sorry I wasted some time playing halo 3. The overhyped game with : childish art style, boring story and very simple gameplay. What about legendary? Difficultly setting are nothing but making your enemies harder - with more hp, more damage, more enemies and better AI. If you play some other games with bots on max difficultly against you, you can smash some keyboards.
Vice city discusted me with these colors. San andreas was a big dissapointment too. If gta iv dissapoint me too Ill say bad things about it too, which will be true and this will also **** of some gamers because they like it. Also I saw some dmc 4 and ng 2 gameplay, and I must say that dmc improvet much more than pevious titles in the series. I saw some Fable 2 gameplay too and it has improved very much. The % of new things compared to fable 1 is very high.
Sony are losers. They arent boring like Halo 3. Shooters are a great genre but a big % of them are **** like Halo. But Halo is boring. There are much better shoters than Halo.
**** like Halo sounds like hating to me, and Halo might be boring to you but for 97% of who enjoyed Halo and its gameplay we would highly disagree. There are shooters that do a couple of things better but no shooter has a better lobby and matchmaking system for online than Halo or smarter AI that constantly surprise you. I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion and are a fair few who dislike Halo after playing it. However to hate on nearly every feature and some being improved greatly from previous Halos must mean that you hated all previous installments so why 'Waste your time' as you put it even bothering to play Halo 3 if you only did so to hate on it? Or that you believed the hype yourself and hated previous ones but bought into the hype believing it to be greatest shooter ever. Then its more your fault that you hated it not the game as it couldnt live up to that hype. People should have learnt after the likes of Fable to not buy into hype and build their own expectations of games instead.

I didnt believe the hype and dont think Halo 3 is greatest shooter ever but i do really like the game. I did find the adverts intriguing though and liked their style.

Sounds to me like you are doing just that and hating on it and the Halo series as a whole. If you feel you have wasted hours playing the game then simple, dont play it and move on and leave rest of us to enjoy it.

Halo just uses colours a lot so you can differentiate between enemies and assess threat levels and recognise them from a distance. Story is great if you actually take time to learn it and pay attention instead of just assuming its a marine stopping alien invasion and ends there because that isnt it at all. That doesnt even scratch the surface of the story for Halo.

I personally think that Bungie should be applauded for what they achieved with Halo 3. They werent afraid of Microsoft hyping it and were confident of their product pleasing most people and listening to past criticism and changing things. They have a revolutionary online mode with Forge, the 2-3 and 4 player co-op and community tools such as replays of whole levels saved in a tiny file that can be watched after a game and screenshots that can be taken, ideas that up to now have never been seen on a console. Single player was a little disappointing with it being so short and some parts of story overlooked when they could have fleshed them out even more. However the difficulty levels add to replayability not to mention the collection of the skulls and variety of the co-op. So overall i think Bungie and Microsoft deserve a round of applause for job well done as Halo 3 launched game sales past movies for first time ever.
Its better to stop arguing because Im dissapointed. Didnt expected to be the best shooter ever, I hoped for some fresh gameplay because the previous halo games bored me to death. Killing mindless aliens feels like WoW grinding to me.

Thats said from a person who plays blue dragon. I think you dont like cool rpgs like fable so what are you doing in this forum exept sayng Fable is about killing monsters like WoW. Never played blue dragon but ive seen a couple of screens. Looks very childish. Suits the Wii audience better and should sell with some pampers and milk. Better its not such an embarrassment as halo 3.

Your arguing not me, im actually praising someones hard work and giving them credit for the things they did well with a quality title and your the one who seems to be just slating everything about it just for the sake out it. If previous ones bored you but got praised by 98% of other people, why would they change the game so much to appeal to the 2% of people who didnt like it and annoy the 98% of people who did? if it isnt broken then dont fix it, you didnt like it... thats fine... stop playing it stop moaning and move onto your 'Better Shooters'. Seems like a simple, flawed, and contracdictory tirade of hate to me. From moment you said

It was obvious no matter how good Halo 3 was you were going to hate it because you hate the Halo series and everything about it. So they were never going to get any praise for anything they did right at all from you, just pure hate and criticism

A sequel is meant to be like the preceding installments...
if you wanted it to be transformed into pirates fighting ghosts on magic carpets you were looking in the wrong place...
Halo is the Master Chief fighting aliens and the Flood... so there's only so many places you can go with that and not be ridiculous, especially if you wish to follow the storyline...
if the first one bored you to death, you perhaps should have realized the series was not for you rather than performing the same activity again and again and expecting a different result... that is the definition of insanity, you know..

please don't go turning this into some personal attack, that's really uncalled for.
this is a discussion about Halo, not anything else.
people do not need to justify to you what they are doing on this forum
they do not need to enjoy the RPG's you do, nor is it even a requirement that they like Fable
as for what exactly "looks very childish", I would say it is a person who does not accept the contrary opinions of someone who has proved their point well and turns to attacking them and questioning their right to be here...
*Shudder* This thread is becomming the official Xbox forums... See why I had my last played games hidden before? Because idiots use the "This comming from someone who has played *insert game here*" as their number one argument over there.
If you feel like having such a oh-so-very intelligent discussion, feel free to go to those forums, but here we don't want them. There is enough Halo bashing going on over there, you should fit right in.
EDIT; As for your "review" all I can say is "lol". Seems you really didn't like the game to start with. And I loooved how you put FEAR as an example of "good" battles. FEAR has the same enemies most of the time, whilst Halo has both Brutes and Flood in various forms. And talk about the same thing over and over;
1. Locate enemies.
2. Use Slow-Mo.
3. Kill them all.
Rinse and repeat.
I'm not bashing FEAR; I actually love the game, but my point is that when you say "its the same thing over and over"....
