As a big RTS fan im happy to see more coming out recently & this could potentially be the 1st big one on console for quite some time. If it does well im hoping it will show Microsoft that there is life in the genre yet and we could see more coming out in the future.

So far it seems Halo Wars 2 is shaping up well & with the added expertise of RTS veterans Creative Assembly it has all of the right ingredients to make a great title.

Halo Wars 2 benefits from the experience of Creative Assembly

As well as the modes you expect to see in an RTS title like Campaign, Skirmish & co-op modes there is also a new mode known as Blitz Mode. It is described as a part arcade game, part excuse to collect a digital deck of cards mode.

Halo Wars 2 arrives in the Xbox Store and the Windows Store on February 21st. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, purchasing the game on one platform unlocks it on the other.

Never played the first one however I think I'll pick this one up, looks like a lot of fun.

I only played it briefly and it had a decent foundation but controls were a little off, at least that seems to have been rectified this time with Creative Assemblys input and PC release. Looks like they have put a lot more thought into modes, campaign, balance and units this time around and I might check it out myself if end product is decent.

I want to research more about the base building, Skirmish/Deathmatch before making a purchase however as this was lacking in Halo Wars 1. Campaign & co-op modes look great from what ive seen but base building/freedom can make or break RTS games for me.

Seems to have scored decently in the reviews with average score on XB1 of 80 & 75 on PC on metacritic so seems RTS games can work on console (I hope we see more). Would be even easier when Microsoft finally enable mouse and keyboard support on XB1. As main issues with PC version seems to be that it needs some patches to iron out some of the annoying console minded menus/interfaces etc that have been designed with console controllers in mind.
