Re: Happy New Year peoples.

Happy New Year and I was very rock n' roll and watched True Lies on the telly before falling asleep at 1.40am. The kid stayed up until half 12 and crashed out, leaving Steve to enjoy his hardcore hot chocolate and leaving me to attempt to stay awake for longer even though I was so tired I thought I'd die .

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

That was my New Years at the turn of the century/new millenium thingy. Three mental parties involving eighteen costume changes, countless bottles of vodka/tia maria/baileys/cocktails/miscellaneous alcoholic beverages and something diabolical and multicoloured called 20/20. Finally passed out in the middle of the driveway of my mate Adam's house before being woken up twenty minutes later to go to work at the local ski and snowboard centre. Got there, sat under my desk with coffee and toast and then watched my boss swigging from a 2 litre bottle of generic vodka whilst telling head office to go screw themselves....

....oh to be 17 again...

Sounds like my kind of party!

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

It was insane - spending the whole time with eighty of my closest friends and parting hard. It was the last time we all got together coz everyone suddenly got married or went off travelling - and it was just before everything went a bit screwy in my own life - so it holds some pretty special memories for me.

The last time I went to a new years party (2005/6) there ended up being 6 people, including me and the kid, and two were married and all over each other like a couple of teenagers, one was a very very dull systems analyst who insisted on talking about binary code all night and the host had one bacardi and coke before locking herself in her bathroom and crying that no one liked her. We watched other people having fun on telly and the married couple went home at 12.01am because they wanted to let the cat out - apparently.

I have never had so much fun in all my life .

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

Happy New Year everyone! No drinks for me...but I didn't need alcohol to reach a buzz once it became official that my beloved KC Chiefs would be in the NFL Playoffs. Talk about miracles!!!

Then again, if anyone wants to give me an imaginary drink here on the forums, I wouldn't refuse it. :D ^_^

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

I am imagining a drink for you *strains brain to remember what alcohol is like*....

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

 that sucks... but then again least you are free after that until you get a job i got to get up at stupid o' clock go to work and work overtime for a month. 6 days a week for up to 12 hours a day :getlost:

Re: Happy New Year peoples.

At least you're gonna get paid for your overtime - I'm on call 24/7 with the whole "taking care of child" thingy and it's the hardest damn job in the world with no pay! *sobs*

Hehe - well, I shall enjoy what little time to myself I shall have while the kid gets beat up in the playground for having a southern accent...and then occasionally look for a job...
