ya that comes up just before it messes up, can i turn that off some how?

There should be various other buttons to set width and height amongst other things. Try fiddling around with those after it gets messed up.

where might these buttons be?

Should be on the frame going around the edges of the monitor, possibly near the on/off button. They are sometimes under the side of the lower left/right corner of the monitor and tricky to find at first.

didn't really help

it would help if i could stop it from auto adjusting to 640x480

Thats what the screen looks like when I am in the options section, thats how much gets cut off.

well doesnt require but recommends but that doesnt matter it said it could play the game but it doesnt ...

Tried to see how out of date your drivers are?

If you get an error running the latest ones try a different site to download them from and if the same happens see if there are any alternate updates.

I have same prob on XP but just a little different way. Check it out.

Althought, Resolution affects on graphics ^^ If u have 680 x 480, ur graphics are wery low. But, game merely works smoother.
