Re: Havok in Fable 2!

Well, one feature we all know about is the one about seeing a small camp grow into a big village, town or even city.

That sounds like the world(and hopefully those within) will age with your character, no?

I was wondering that myself actually but would be hard to do as that would mean that YOU had to die of old age aswel and that would put a timelimit on the game depending how it was implemented of course.

I remember reading something about sickness and illnesses somewhere before (I think), wonder if that would be included or have any effect of deaths etc.

Does anyone know what games have used Havok

yes, i do, actually know a few games that use havok, Halo 2 used havok, or something similar to it at least; and Destroy All Humans used it. and i think Smuggler's Run used it for the people you'd run over.

But now that Havok is in Fable 2, i'm excited about it. havok is awesome with it's realistic limpness of dead bodys and certain inanimate objects that you can kick accross the room. the game that really needs to use havok, though, is Grand Theft Auto, buth that's for another forum.

Re: Havok in Fable 2!

About the initial point of the thread:

Remember, Havok is not simply for throwing things with under your control. I've used this engine before, and it is incredible with what it can simulate. One game ou wouldn't think of is Age of Empires III. This used the Havok engine for rag-doll physics, and they were incredible. When the character swings differently compared to surroundings, I don't think that is completely Havok, partly just Lionhead's unbelievable programming staff.

Another engine people should check out if they are interested in this kind of stuff is the Euphoria engine, which is pretty much Havok but with a very complex AI interaction system built-in. It simulates the mind, and creates certain fraction points on wood and about 2 thousand other materials. It's very interesting for those who know how this stuff works.
