Help me Please

LB and RB are both stuck or stiff on my controller anyone got any clue how to fix them without taking the controller apart as i dont have the screwdriver. Also the buttons make a small creeking sound when i press it. +rep to anyone who can help.

Damn but isnt there like 7 screws? and i mean i cant take it apart i dont have the screwdriver is there not other way? :/

There are 6 screws (i looked at my controller) screwdrivers cost hardly anything id get one. Saves you screwing up the controller forcing anything down the buttons.

7 screws dd ;) under the battery pack theres a white barcode and theres a screw under that. :D But yeh i cant find any i looked i might have to try a paperclip to clean underneath it.

I'm agreed with DD on this one. You're gonna need to take that sucker apart, give it a thorough cleaning, and re-assemble it. Ask your dad if he has a screw driver handy (all dads do, c'mon), but if he doesn't then just ask a mate or a mate's parent if you could lend one. I haven't got a 360 controller handy at the minute but do be sure to check if you need a flat-head or cross-head screwdriver beforehand.

Wilkos sell screwdrivers for about £1.50 any road.

I think i need a number one phillips screwdriver and my dad dosent have one of them and i have no mates who have one i might try and see next time i go round one of my mates houses. Thanks guys big help :)

You can use a regular torque wrench if you break the little pegs of the screws first.

Mines still got barcode on it so didnt see that one. :P

I love taking apart and putting back together things like controllers and keyboards. ^_^ Somtimes I do it for fun! Kind of random like that. I had to re-build my computer a while back, which gave me a better understanding of how THAT works. I wish I could fix your controller for you. I'd suggest prying out the buttons with a butterknife or something to that effect but, I don't think you want to damage your controller. I wish I could give you a screw driver too. :(

Thanks seph i managed to sort of losen it up by well... Smacking it with a hammer now it works the same but makes a creeking sound but im glad the buttons working again but i will still by a screwdriver to get under it :)

You got the controller to work...by smacking it with a hammer?

Also the creeking sound could be caused by something in between the button and the shell or a part inside. When you press the button it would put pressure on it, possibly making that sound.
