On my first game, I tried getting this achievement. As the king, I got married six times, then killed two of my wives after all the marrying was done. Is this how it should have been done, or do I need to go through these six marriages at separate times?

That's weird. For me I married 5, killed 2 and then married another girl afterwards. I got the achievement. Maybe you have to kill them before you marry your sixth one because Henry didn't have all 6 spouses at once...or did he? Whatever, try again the way I did it.

he didnt have em all at once and if i read it right u have to marry 4 times and kill 2 of them.. not sure of any order

Henry the VIII wife order IRL was divorced-beheaded-died-divorced-beheaded-lived... And he didn't have more than one at once. And england is protestant because the catholic church wouldn't let him divorce his first wife so he changed the entire country's national religion so he could divorce her. just a fun fact
