Hi All help needed please ?

I love all the fable games but struggling to find another game on the market similar i would like any suggestions?

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

There's the Elder Scrolls series which is a bit similar (specifically Morrowind & Oblivion). Other than that, other similar titles would be:

Overlord
Vampire: Bloodlines
Star Wars: KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic)
Neverwinter Nights
Guild Wars
Freedom Force

It would help to know what you enjoyed most about the Fable games.

Hi thanks for replying what i like is
*The game format in that you can go several different ways
*if you die/knocked out the whole level doesnt reset
*its not overly hard and never found it fustrating

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

You might like Oblivion The Elder Scrolls. It is not the expensive, and you can play it forever. You can customize you character's physical features, and where armor of your choice.

1. By game format do you mean 3rd person? You can go third person in this game as well as first person. There is many more items and you can make many different choices. There are large abouts of decisions you can make. There is not morality and stuff like fable, but you can be evil, good or neutral. You can join certain factions that you kill people or steal things from other people. Pickpocket people or just rob their home. Break in their house and kill them. Become a Vampire and drink their blood while the sleep. Feed people poison apples.
Or you could be good. Fight monsters and defeat daemons. Shut gates to hell and save towns. Help people in the game with deeds they need done. Destroy necromancers, have the cities love you and praise you.

2.You can die in the game, but with the difficulty setting feature, it won't happen often. you can save the game whenever you want to and Auto Saves pop up every so often.

3. Not at all. You can change the difficulty setting if the game is frustrating you.

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

Oblivion is brilliant, to be honest. It's a go anywhere, do anything type game and you can avoid the main quest altogether if you want to. I've clocked in almost 300 hours with this game and only done the main quest twice. Obviously it's a good idea to save often if you don't know how a situation is going to play out otherwise you wind up loading from your most recent save file (like a lot of games). But dying from enemies in Oblivion is pretty rare (and I'm a crap gamer, so if I can manage it, anyone can :)). The main things that kill me are falling off cliffs thinking I have enough health to cope with the impact. Yes, I am that stupid

Gikoku mentioned Overlord and that is a lot of fun (who doesn't want to see minions getting drunk and peeing in public?) but probably not very "do what you like"; it's quirky and fun without causing too much annoyance. Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are good choices as well - again, can be quite linear in places but there are sidequests to do if you'd rather put off the story for a bit and some interesting outcomes to conversations depending on how you behave towards others. Also you might enjoy Assassin's Creed - I personally lacked the ability to manage with it, but as I said I really am crap so you'll be fine and probably really enjoy both the Assassin's games in the franchise.

Fallout 3 - another excellent choice. To be completely biased towards one of my favourite developers, Bethesda do excellent RPG's with the choice to wander off and do your own thing. Far more freedom in Oblivion and Fallout 3, for example, than you'd get in any of the Fable games. Once you've gotten through the initial stages, you're free to do what you like, mainly.

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

Yeah, Oblivion is the way to go. Guild Wars is a steady MMORPG with no subscriptions that is quite similar.

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

Ooh - if you do go for Oblivion, go for the Game of the Year edition to get Shivering Isles as well - that expansion is HUGE and absolutely brilliant. A whole new area to explore, new side quests, new characters, new main quest - everything. And GOTY is not too expensive now; a lot of online shops will give it to you for less than 15 quid.

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

I'm an unashamed Oblivion fangirl, I'm afraid. It's my all-time favouritest game evar and nothing will be able to change my mind. Sad, really...

"Stop! You violated the law! You must pay the court a fine or serve your sentence! Your stolen goods are now forfeit."

Good times.

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

Dragon Age: Origins
Assassin's Creed I and II
The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Mass Effect 1 and 2
Fallout 3

That's all I can think of, for now.

Oh wow

But anyways, I'd really recommend Fallout 3, it's totally free in terms of what you do. Example: You see a man being attacked by 2 super mutants. Do you:

A. Save the man
B. Kill him and the mutants
C. Save the man, then kill him
D. Save the man, then kill him, then eat him (YES YOU CAN DO THAT)
E. Ignore them
F. Save him and pickpocket all his stuff, then go to Megaton and have secksy time with a prostitute
Or G. Get naked and punch everyone to death
You can also nuke a city.
It's very flexible, really.

Oblivion is VERY fun, I've played it lots, but it lacks the potential to truly be evil, because at the end of the day you're still the guy who stopped the demons and saved the land, and everyone will treat you as such.
In Fallout 3, you can murder all the good guys, murder the bad guys, murder your dog, murder your classmates, murder the entire world and then blow up a city and poison the water supplies.
Also, you get to nuke a city.

I've spent so many nights with all the lights off in my room, wandering the wastes in Fallout 3, because it's just that awesome.

And yes, I realize I am a Fallout 3 fanboy.

Did I mention you get to NUKE A CITY??

Re: Hi All help needed please ?

in the case that you find oblivion too complex (there is a lot to take in at first)

i'd recommend Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. it does have set levels and a story, but also has moral choices. you play as the strongest jedi ever who can crush anything with his mind, and decide if you want to help the empire or not. you use skill points to level up your lightsaber combos or force powers, and at one point in the game you stop an entire star destroyer from crashing into a city :geek:
